The experience I had at the Aloft Miami Brickell has single handedly led me to the decision to never stay at a Marriot Bonvoy Property again. I will be cancelling my Marriot Bonvoy credit card and gifting my points to a relative who is willing to support your corporation. The entire experience from check in to check out was embarassing and not to the level of quality that i expect from what used to be SPG. I am a ex-plantinum member who has stayed at SPG properties around the world (US, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand). In the past year - even during a pandemic - i have stayed 40 nights in Bonvoy properties. Where do we begin - firstly, the concierge that checked me in was not wearing a mask (im not so big on masks either but this is a client service industry and its the law). Second, the room was not clean when we arrived (the floor was obviously dirty). Next we were surprised with the fact that now during the pandemic the rooms are being cleaned every third night? I found this shocking considering cleanliness has been the focus of the world we live in since March 2020. I certainly would have expected this to be communicated when I either A) booked the room B) Received a confirmation C) Received a welcome email about my upcoming stay D) Check in maybe? 4 chances to alert a customer of this new and unacceptable practice? I understand COVID times are tough, i work in finance, i understand profit margins... but you cannot tell me that cleaning a hotel every 3 days is acceptable practice by any means. Even less so in Miami where nobody gives a hoot about the pandemic. Im guessing youre willing to roll the dice on having the hotel be a focal point of spread to save a couple dollars? I expect better from Marriot Bonvoy and I used to believe that SPG/Marriot Bonvoy held itself to a higher standard. When i requested the room to be cleaned anyway i was told they could not because the new hotel policy only allowed every three days. I had to tell the front desk attendant that my girlfriend had her period for them to give me the time of day, which i later found that ONLY the bedsheets had been changed (thanks but i was told they would take care of it and expected more). My girlfriend has a very healthy flow and the room looked and smelled like a bloody crime scene. I had to go through this humiliation and begging to have a room cleaning? The towels in the room are comparable to the terry towels i use to dry my dog with. They are really great for drying animals or floors or anything except for humans, because they leave white fuzz on you. They left white fuzz all over me. I went to the front desk to ask for a fork, and told they have none... at a hotel? really? A hotel with a restaurant (albeit closed due to pandemic)... but i have a funny feeling you didnt sell all your silverware to cover pandemic losses... No forks? Where in the world did i stay? Absolutely worst hoteling experience of my life. I am a firm believer in voting with my dollars, and I will never spend a dollar more at a bonvoy property again. As mentioned above, i have stayed at SPG/Bonvoy properties all over the world... a reputation is built over a lifetime, and ruined in an instance. Never again.…
Aloft Miami Bickell, Sad to tell you that the stay here with my fiancé was the worst out of my 200+ stays with Marriott Properties. I use Marriott not only for work travel but also please and I promise to never consider this location again. I have also flagged this location within my organization as a low performing, non customer focused location. 2 days before I arrived I did the check in on the app, given the Elite Status I have achieved I requested early check in around 9am since my flight would be early. The early check in was ignored and not even expedited. In turn my bags were stored and I was force to rearranged my bookings with other events since I was unable to shower and get ready for them. The manager never called to let us know a room was available but instead I showed back up at 3pm and she said “let me check to see if a room is ready.” I would hope that at 3pm normal check in... most of the rooms would be ready for guest. At check in I requested additional lotion and soap since I fly and chose to pack lighter. This was not honored as well. I again requested each day for the entire stay but was never issued the items and was instead issued excuses on “house keeping does it”, or “must ask before 2pm,” or “we will send it up” to never arrived. Another issue was towels, the stay was for 4 days and the staff seemed to believe 2 towels and 1 washcloth was suffice for my wife and I to share. When asking for an additional 2 towel and 3 wash clothes, we were mumbled “this should of been requested earlier.” Some other tips to help with your facility is not allow staff to open glass bottles for guest to use around the pool. The 4 kids swimming even were talking about hoe the adults shouldn’t have glass. Lastly the dead rat that was next to the pool should be cleaned up to prevent sickness and the rain from washing its rotting body into the pool. …
We chose this hotel due to location and price as other reviewers noted. It is certainly convenient. That said, after our stay I would definitely pay more to stay somewhere nicer. The quality of this hotel was definitely not what I expected from Marriott. It has good intentions in the design (modern colors and amenities for younger crowd although many were not in service due to COVID). However it’s an older building and despite the design elements, that much is obvious. I didn’t feel it was particularly dirty but our room definitely didn’t look like the pictures. There was no carpet at all (which I guess is probably a good thing ultimately for hygiene, but just made the room feel “cold”) and the bathroom was very small. We also felt we were in a party motel more than a Marriott. Agree with another reviewer that it gets loud on weekends (we heard people loud and clear even behind their closed doors) and ALWAYS reeks of weed in the elevator and hallways. One time walking back to our room we also heard a very loud woman, if you know what I mean. I mean I guess the hotel can’t control that but this gives you an idea of the type of crowd here. We also called down for two extra towels one afternoon. Waited about 90 minutes, called again, waited another 30 minutes, and finally I went down to get some directly from the front desk. Then about 15 minutes after that housekeeping came to the room with towels apologizing, but of course it was too late then. The staff was nice; no complaints there whatsoever. But because of the quality, I would never stay again and would recommend others look for something else unless you truly are on a budget and just need a bed to sleep in.…
i booked a high floor king bed with a balcony. Pulling up to the hotel, I saw that the neighborhood wasn't so desirable. Checked in to a room on the 7th floor (not high at all which i booked) went to the room, it reeked of pine sole as if they were covering up an odor. went down to change room. They gave me a room on the 12th floor. Room was decent, however, I found hairs throughout the room and there was a leak. Come to find out, this is a pet friendly hotel. No offense to pet owners but I do not want to sleep in the same bed that a dog was in. I don't care about washed sheets. Just the thought of it grosses me out. I now believe they tried to give me a room that held pets when they gave me the keys to the first room. Disgusting. Never again. Pool was situated in a weird spot. Very small. Only counters, no regular table and chairs to sit outside. Gym was a joke. Didn't even have the decency to ask me how my stay was when checking out. Never again.…
Stay away from this hotel !!!! Rooms were dirty , at 5am have to change room because I found a big roach on my bed . This was a terrible experience. You could get a better hotel for the same price !! Second room has dirty floors too !!!!
