When we checked into the hotel we got to our room and the floor had sand all over the floor. I went to put our clothing in the drawers and there was someone underwear in the back of the drawer of the dresser. My husband called and had the housekeepers come and clean out the drawers in the dresser. The...

We were able to get corner room 427 by reserving it for a Sunday check-in and stayed two days. The owner was running a special for $100 per night and we thought for the view, that was perfect. Room 427 like the other corner rooms has two views- one of the Gulf of Mexico and one of the north or...

Knowing that the El Governor was an older, we were impressed with the entire place. The rooms were completely renovated and up to date. Love it being right on the beach, every room faces the beach with a balcony, pool is heated, bar is beachside, tiki hut and swings on property. Each of the rooms have a full kitchen which...

Family of four on an overnight getaway. Rooms are simple but have plenty of space. A kitchenette with full refrigerator that is great for longer stays or families packing food and drinks for the beach. Even on the highest floor you are only minutes to the beach. Heated pool, another great amenity for the sunny but chilly winter days. Rooms...

Took a quick getaway to Mexico Beach close to Panama City. Place was very clean and recently remodeled. Every unit has a balcony facing the water. Sound of waves was beautiful. Beach nice and flat for walking. Only drawback was not many restaurants open this time of year. Food was great but very expensive. Our unit had a full kitchen...

All the staff was very friendly, hot coffee in the lobby and hotel is clean. I like the wood look vinyl floors so much better than the cold, slippery white tile floors with dirty grout found in most places. The beach is just feet from your balcony (first floor is parking so had to walk down one flight. Annex rooms...

We have been to the El Governor several times over the past 10 years and love it. The rooms may be a little dated but you're at the beach, all you need is a place to sleep and shower. We could not beat the winter special pricing and decided to take an anniversary trip by ourselves since our honeymoon 24...

We have stayed here as family for 2 years at Thanksgiving & love it. The rooms have been updated since last year (fresh paint, new floors). Rooms are basic w/kitchenette (stoves, microwaves, refrigerators). Rooms are clean, great location and great prices. They even have a beach side bar with live entertainment this year. Great value for the money.

Room was clean. We had refrigerator, stove and microwave. Balcony with great views. Saw man catch small shark from our balcony on last morning there. Recommend to everyone. Live music on Friday and Saturday night at the bar and bank outside of motel on Thursday night. Could basically walk anywhere in Mexico Beach. Love the motel and especially love Mexico...

El Governor has weathered thru many storms. It is old Florida style. The beds are fairly comfortable but the best part of staying here is that all the rooms have a balcony with an ocean view. Bring your own pillows, as theirs are not comfy. Nothing fancy here, just the basics...but that view is worth a million!
