We arrived to the hotel with the idea of simple relax, being surrounded by nature and mountains....and got what we wanted. Very quiet location (so you need a car), nice views and scenery, okay rooms and beds (though both a room and a bathroom were a bit smaller), really great pool area and all hotel amenities and really nice, the...

Somewhat old-fashioned and fussy retreat in a middle of nowhere. Though compelling in a way. Neat rooms although definitely on a small side. Navigating around the bed with two people and two languages inside is a juggling act. Same for the bathroom. AND... Maybe it's just me but proximity of retirement home with medics walking around in gloves doesn't necessary...

We called to book for one night stay for a family of five. Contrary to the informal but cordial attitude we are used to in village accommodation around Crete (we happen to live here), we were asked to send our booking request by email. Impressed as we were, we complied with the request and sent a formal mail. Alas, when...

Nice clean, modern hotel with a somewhat corporate feel. Pool and poolside bar area very attractive and a welcome reprieve in the July heat. Staff not very friendly, but efficient. We booked dinner as part of our room rate so ate in their restaurant over the road which was fine. Nothing really special to mention, just a convenient overnight stop...

Very good service, nice breakfast, great facilities (everything was of a high standard and very pretty: rooms, pool, lobby, gym). Overall clean and great location in the mountains. Perfect for a couple of nights if you have a car and want to visit places near.

We returned this year for two nights during a 3 day road trip and once again it was just a wonderful stay. Our room had everything we could possibly need including a balcony with the most fabulous view. Breakfast was just what we needed, with cereals, ham, cheese, pastries, fruit juice, a cheese omelette toast and coffee. The pool area...

We last visited (and reviewed) this hotel in 2013 and since then a lot has changed. There is currently a lot of building work taking place, with the loss of much green space. These works, once completed, will also restrict the once fantastic views of Psiloritis, all of which is a shame. The car parking is 'minimal' to say the...

At the end of the little village of Gerakari in Crete you will find the Alexander hotel. It has beautiful and luxurious rooms. a swimming pool and a very helpful staff. It certainly is worthwhile visiting this hotel. The nice furniture and decorations in the lobby and reception area make you think you're in a museum. We only paid 50...

What a gorgeous hotel set in the beautiful Amari Valley. This is an extraordinary hotel - in the proper sense that it is out of the ordinary. At the price it has to be rated very good - but read on. The positives: - the most luxury you are likely to find for Euro 50/room/night B&B (possibly anywhere). - comfy beds, fluffy towels, well furnished air conditioned rooms. - exceptional...
