We had booked our wedding for August 2020 and had to reschedule twice which the venue were really helpful with. We finally secured a Sunday in September 2021 and went ahead with a reduced number. The process was helped along by a very front-footed planner in Shiyra Faulkener, who helped us realize a fantastic day which ran like clockwork.
Our guests loved the venue, their lodgings, and the 5-star treatment they received. The venue having in effect 5 different location stages (Arrival drinks at Butlers Rest, Ceremony Room, Reception at main house, Banquet room, Courtyard area) gave our guests a real episodic day - from one treat to the next.
In terms of challenges there was a venue hire fee added after we had sent out our invitations, and we could have done with more tips for filling our guestrooms. A rule of thumb to "overfill by 15%, because 15% of guests cancel their rooms" would have been good to know.
Overall a great day, reasonably priced and expertly delivered by Shiyra, David, and team.

We want to take the time to thank everyone at Clonabreany House for making 19th December 2020 so special for us.
Clonabreany made our wedding of 25 guests feel like it was a wedding of 250. Every staff member at the venue was so wonderful and helpful that we would take up too much space naming them all individually. Our guests have been contacting us raving about the food and accommodation in particular, with one guest literally saying it was the best food she's ever had. It was all just incredible and we feel so lucky to have been married at Clonabreany House. Thank you so much to everyone.

My wife and i held our wedding here in July. The venue and accommodation were stunning and extremely well presented, but mostly the staff were just incredible on the day. Everyone was so good at their jobs, seemingly all locally hired who cared about the venue and the occasion, and sincerely helpful throughout. Our organiser Shiyra kept us very chilled, but aware of timings and any potential issue in the most polite way possible. Given it was during Covid times for a wedding of 50, they made the event incredibly relaxed and we wouldn't change a thing.

I will be honest that there were quibbles with management about pricing in the lead up to the event, given changes in government restrictions and certain additional fees, so be wary of the bottom line, but once we got to the day everything was so flawless we wouldn't change a thing.

month has passed since our wedding weekend in Clonabreany House and we are so happy we went ahead with our original date - 1st August 2020. When we originally set out planning our wedding we got caught up in the wedding madness and ended up with a wedding guest list far bigger than either of us wanted. With Covid and it’s ever changing restrictions our guest list quickly diminished, initially 175, then 85 and then just when we thought nothing else could go wrong the limit dropped to 50. Since February we were in two minds and we actually cancelled our wedding back in April but by June we decided 85 people would be fine so after a long chat with Mary and Paulina we rebooked. However, when we found out about the new maximum of 50 guests just 10 days out from our wedding day we were devastated.

We were luckily dealing with a great bunch of staff and I picked up the phone to speak to Mary O’Neill - General Manager and Therapist. She told me to come down to CBH and off we went.

We sat with Mary and discussed our concerns and before we knew it we had come up with a solution that worked for CBH and us. We decided to have a two day event, day 1 was your standard wedding with just our family and some very close family friends. Day 2 was an extension of this but, we traded family for friends.

Everyone was so happy to have been able to celebrate with us. We ate, drank, loved, laughed and danced, and it was so wonderful.

Day 1 was in the house and Marquee until speeches and then we all moved to the Sibin. Day 2 was all down in the Sibin and Diamor Suite.

Day 1 flew by, everyone told me it would. Elaine and Avril went above an beyond for us making sure we got to enjoy the whole day. Elaine even brought me out my own tray of canapés as she saw I didn’t get a chance to taste them during the drinks reception.

Day 2 was my favourite day of all. It was less demanding and nerve wracking that the Day 1. Our friends treated it like a day 1 and all turned up ready to enjoy the the day in their finest wedding attire.

We had afternoon tea, a beautiful BBQ, more wedding cake and treats.

The staff were amazing for the two days we were there. Ewan, Conor and Niall were so kind to all our family and friends too. Jim and Paki were kept busy all day bringing our guests from the courtyard to the house in the black taxi.

You all went above and beyond for us and we are genuinely so happy we went ahead with our wedding when we did. It was the first wedding back in Clonabreany and you all outdone yourselves.

Everyone raves about the food in CBH and it lived up to our expectations. 10/10.

The entire team looked after us so well, with simple changes and practical safety measures they ensured all our guests were safe the whole weekend.

We wouldn’t change a thing!

Thank you all so much,

Amanda and Padraig

We booked our wedding in March 2020 and rescheduled our wedding 3 times during Covid19. February 21, June 21 and August 21. We had plenty of discussions with Clonabreany about rescheduling, discussing numbers, restrictions and venue hire fees etc. What was a stressful year and a half with the ongoing pandemic and change in restrictions, we came to an agreement that worked for both us and Clonabreany.

We had Shiyra as our coordinator and we couldn't thank her enough, she was fantastic and reassuring. She was very accommodating, providing advice on what to do based on her own experience and was always quick to update us on any changes or issues. This made our life a lot easier.

On the day Shiyra and the team were on hand at every stage to help us and our 50 guests out. The weather was great on the day thankfully. We had the ceremony on site and our celebrant Romy Mc Auley (A Beautiful Ceremony) made sure everything ran smoothly. The ceremony was brilliant.

The reception and dinner was perfect, all our guests were complimenting the food, service, canapés, venue etc.

We moved down to the Sibin after dinner and had a great night. The accommodation and the breakfast the next morning was great.

All in all we could fault the wedding, we had the best day. Our guests all had a great time and said it was a fantastic venue. Thank you to everyone at Clonabreany for all their help. We're hoping that we get invited to another wedding in Clonabreany just to experience it all again! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

We celebrated our wedding day at Clonabreay House and we cannot recommend it highly enough. Every aspect of the experience was mesmerizing, most especially the idyllic setting, tranquil atmosphere, welcoming staff and the absolutely amazing food which was of a quality that we have never before experienced at a wedding. The Clonabreany staff are exceptional, they cannot do enough for you, both in the planning phase and on the day itself, their customer service skills are simply impeccable. The day was executed effortlessly by an amazing Coordinator Dearbhaile and the Clonabreany team who went above and beyond to make us feel at ease and special on our wedding day, their enthusiasm and professionalism was second to none. We received glowing compliments from our guests on the standard and luxury of the accommodation, which is situated in the adjacent tastefully restored rustic courtyard. Our drinks reception was held in the main manor house, the décor of which is steeped in both style and sophistication. The magnificent marque was decorated spectacularly, the attention to detail in the table arrangements was most definitely unparalleled by anything we had ever seen previously. The five-course meal was an absolute taste sensation with each course only surpassing the last. Again, just one of the elements of the experience that our guests have since emphatically praised.
This venue is nothing short of perfection!
Thank you to Clonabreany House for an unforgettable day. Bróna & Darragh xx

We attended our best friends wedding day here. As always the pictures online look amazing. This is one of those venues where you arrive and your jaw drops, from the moment we arrived the staff could not do enough for all the guests. We stayed the night in one of the cottages which was finished off to the highest possible standard, amazing! The food, oh my days it was out of this world. I have never been to a wedding dinner of around 200 guests and they ask you how you would like your meat cooked, say wha? The set up was flawless, to the beautiful venue, amazing staff, the food, accomadation, old style black cab to drop you from the main manor to the courtyard cottages, old style Irish resi bar. I would love to write a blog on this not a review! Amazing, just amazing! Thank you and well done to our fantastic newlywed friends for a beautiful day and to all at Clonabreany for making the whole day so special for the newlyweds and a top class experience for all in attendance, you all should be very proud!

The old Georgian house along with the sweeping driveway and the delightful cottages in the picturesque and rich Meath countryside made the perfect and unique location for the wedding of my niece which I attended in September 2023 . ( Laura & Conor 28/09/23 .

Everything about Clonabreany oozes character and style .
From the Georgian house to the quaint chapel , the accommodation and the on-site shebeen .

The staff were friendly and accommodating .
The food and beverage service was delivered with great precision and aplomb . The food itself was amazing . They also had choices for people who needed gluten free and dairy free meals .
The on-site cottages & courtyard were old world charming but yet modern on the inside just like an hotel and spotlessly clean .

The old style in house black cabs ferrying guests from the main house down the driveway to the cottages and back was a brilliant touch . It was only 2 minutes walk but in the evening we had some rain so the black taxis were ideal .

Special mention to the late night bartender in the Shebeen and the night driver . They both went above and beyond to make sure everyone was looked after in good Clonabreany style .
Nothing was any Trouble for them .

I can safely say that Clonbreany House is the epitome of Irish Hospitality and would highly recommend it . All the guests thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the wedding we attended .

We got married on 23/12/2019 and it really was the best day of our lives!
Clonabreany is simply magnificent, from the staff , food, to the grounds.
Aideen our wedding co-ordinator was excellent, she took the stress and worry out of all the planning also having Elaine on hand during the day was also fantastic. All of our guests thoroughly enjoyed their day - complimenting the venue, staff, accommodation and food.

Huge thank you to the staff who went above and beyond and made our day unforgettable.

We will recommend Clonabreany to all our engaged friends, really hoping we will be invited back to enjoy a day like this again.

We had a perfect wedding day at Clonabreany recently.

We knew this was the venue for us after our first visit back in 2019 - we loved the fact that the venue was ours for the day, the cosy síbín for the afters, how beautiful the marquee was, the amazing courtyard houses for our guests and much more! Even on a rainy day, Clonabreany looks amazing.

With COVID coming along, like many other couples, we looked to postpone our date and had many questions and concerns in the months running up to our wedding day. We had multiple calls with the General Manager and tonnes of emails back and forth but nothing was ever too much for the team.

On our big day itself, Clonabreany looked even better than we imagined. The venue has an outdoor marquee now (with a big fireplace) that our guests loved and was a great addition especially with COVID restrictions! Our guests loved all the food and never went hungry (very important for us)! The black cab was perfect for bringing us and our guests across to the other side of the venue whenever needed.

Every member of staff we came across was amazing (special thanks to our coordinator Shiyra) and made us feel so special - we felt like Clonabreany was our home for the day. Special thanks also to Elaine who looked after us so well during the dinner and even our guests were talking about how attentive the staff were! Thanks to all the staff who helped us throughout the day and kept us on track for all the different parts.

Clonabreany is a beautiful venue but the staff takes it up a notch and makes the day even better.

We did not check in until after the wedding, but they are very friendly there, please just give them a call and let them know you will be early, they will probably try and get your room finished first so it is ready for you. It is a beautiful venue, but a bit remote, so don't forget anything. Have a fabulous time. Sally
