While the view from the balcony of my room was breathtaking, the room itself leaned toward awkward. The room was clean enough, but the bed was a wall bed, which had doors that blocked the view of a television that has seen better days. Also, the balcony door did not lock, which was a tad unnerving. It's the little things...

Many places for picnics and free parking areas. Nice soft sand. Many places to stop and eat to enjoy this area. Clean restrooms and changing areas. Picnic tables available for snacking. Gulf water is clear and warm.

The condo was 107, which was on the ground floor, end unit. The view was incredible from the patio and being able to just walk from there to the beach, without going down stairs, was very convenient. It was furnished nicely, had extra blankets, pillows, etc. The whole building was very well maintained and spotless, including the pool and parking...

Just reading these reviews made Me think I had stayed elsewhere. My family n I stayed in the 'dreaded 101' and loved it. Yes you enter straight into bedroom (don't you normally in a hotel?) but the bedroom was large and modern and comfortable. The next room had a sofa bed in which made the room small but all we...

We stayed at this nice hotel over my birthday weekend, and had a really great stay. Our room was clean and comfortable, we had the small room without a water view but we still enjoyed it and plan on staying here again, except next time we'll rent one with a water view. Martha, who was on duty during our stay,...

Nice clean and comfortable room. Unfortunately there were no water views from my unit. The room included most kitchen appliances except for a stove or dishwasher. I personally did not need one as it was a quick trip Maids did a nice job and the receptionist was friendly Longboat Key is such a beautiful place to visit I would not...

The Beach is a small hotel with great views. It is well maintained, the rooms are small and need renovation. They have a kitchen and a pool, no restaurant. The island is situated south of Tampa and just west of Sarasota. Its population 7,143. The beach that's the sand not the hotel , is the main draw. They offer boating,...

We went there last weekend. Clean very small studio with a little kitchen, beautiful view, small cute pool, no restaurant around - pretty quiet, very pretty beach - feels like private beach, clean water. Only one negative - beds! Uhhh super uncomfortable. I guess I'm too old to sleep on pull out sofa.

This is an older property that is in need of updates. We stayed in Unit 101 and it was a little small for six people. Some suggestions would include cutting down some of the shrubs between the pool area and the beach / it was hard to see the beach/water as the vegetation was overgrown. Another idea would be to...

Now is much less. We have been coming (from Tampa) to The Beach for several years (about 10) several times a year. We loved it here - with the secluded beach, great view from the rooms, Spartan but comfortable rooms, friendly management, etc. That is when The Beach was not individually owned. The Beach units are now owned by individual...

We want to thank this guest for their constructive comments. Units at The Beach on Longboat Key are privately owned - they always have been so there has been no change in ownership status. Both the items mentioned, the dishwasher and bathroom outlet, have since been fixed. As for outside lights, they are working but by State law since we...
