The location was kind of hard to find, back behind an RV dealership. When we arrived, there was no one at the front desk. Waited quite awhile before anyone showed up. Our room was okay. Kind of small and a mix of old looking/updated. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The shower curtain was too short, and if we had taken a shower the floor would have flooded. Didn’t want to deal with that at 7 a.m., so we just washed up. Breakfast was a Grab and Go bag due to Covid. When we got ready to check out, there was no one at the desk again! 3 or 4 people waiting there too! We just left our key.
Had 3 rooms and found all to be dirty. Furniture not wiped off, stains on sofa, mold spots in shower/tub grout and, toothpaste on bathroom counter top. Mattress was one of the worst ever. As a Elite Bonvoy member I am disappointed in Marriott allowing this.
As a platinum bonvoy member, we stay at Marriott properties frequently. This one was by far the worst to date. Walls were covered in something, refuse to guess what was splattered all over. Furniture was disgusting and stained. We luckily travel with Clorox and cleaned all of the surfaces, it had been a while since this room was cleaned well. Even the photos on wall were covered in dust and dirt. Bed was clean and comfortable and the only reason we remained at this property was that we got in late after an entire day of driving and were too tired to look for a different property. When we left this morning, we stopped by the front desk not looking for a price reduction but to allow the hotel the opportunity to gain information and hopefully overhaul the room, I was greeted by an under caring “I’m sorry that happened to you”. Do yourself a favor and drive a little further. Gainesville has some lovely marriott properties.…
The pool and spas were closed which I expect was due to Covid even though other hotels had these facilities open. The quick breakfast I received wasn't much but I had to leave before the official breakfast opened up. Staff were friendly and the room was nice
Don't recommend. I understand that hotels post-COVID have changed and what they can do safely is different. However, I have stayed in 3 hotels in the last 2 weeks including 2 Marriotts. This is not a good representative of the Marriott brand. The pool and fitness center are closed. The sign indicates that they have been that way since March. It's June and the State of Florida has opened up these things. They aren't offering a hot breakfast buffet which I understand, but you can't even SIT in the breakfast room. There is no place in the hotel that you can work or be together as a family other than in your room. The other hotels have offered all these services with restrictions that were appropriate. The guest room hallway is like 100 degrees. The guest room is not what I would normally call clean and especially not during this post pandemic time. Marriott needs to get their communication together so that there is consistency within the brand of what is being offered. I feel like this hotel has just checked out and is doing the bare minimum while using the pandemic as an excuse. I am hotel industry blogger and this hasn't inspired confidence in me.…
