Cottage #5..... Shower backed up & never drained, so we had to shower in 2+ inches of water at all times Toilet backed up & would not flush/was leaking onto bathroom floor. ( obvious plumbing issues in bathroom) Kitchen sink leaked, so we had to stop that with the towels they provided. The ac unite dripped onto back of TV...

We booked on the Inn's website because of the location halfway down the Florida Keys. We booked a Garden Suite as it was all that was available. We liked the idea of hammocks, Wi-Fi, and the closeness to the Gulf of Mexico. We were quite shocked when we arrived to find that the Garden Suites are off site about mile...

Just a quick note here.....The Garden Suites are no longer available for rent through the Tropical Cottages office, they were separately owned rooms that were made available on booking sites along with Tropical Cottages. They are not owned by this resort, and are no longer represented by this resort. Sherry B

It looked like a cute collection of cottages in a tropical clearing in the photos. More like behind the bank in the parking lot. it is a neglected property that lacks minimum routine maintenance, and is worn and old. The shower would not totally shut off, it ran all night, and all the next night too. They have a note...

We were excited about staying here and ignored the other bad reviews, DONT! We were traveling from Miami to Key west and this was half way, thinking it would be in a tropical place its not its down a lane which ends in not a nice place no where to go and you need to get back in your car...

The bad reviews are most accurate. Especially the descriptions of management's less than concerned attitiude. This place is bad business. We also ended up in cottage #1 which is I fact a TRAILER. After the first nite we explained to management that we did not get what we were expecting at and the the website and photos had been misleading....

We booked this place for two nights on Bedandbreakfast.com. We've had good luck using this site but our luck ran out. This is not a B & B. There is no breakfast and no mention anywhere that one isn't included. We assumed there was due to being listed on bedandbreakfast.com. Very pricey at $150 per night plus $10 for our...

No complaints. Not one. This place exceeded my expectations. Jeff went above and beyond and was so friendly. I recommend a stand alone cottage. We rented cottage #9. No safety concerns. Quiet, clean and such a unique property. This really added to our overall experience of the keys.

First, I really wanted to like this place. As a seasoned traveler with a flair for adventure, this was the first time in years that I did not feel safe in an area - Marathon in general. The first night walking back from the Publix plaza around 6 pm I did not feel safe - couldn't quite figure out why,...

“Cottage #1”is NOT a cottage at all, just a dilapidated trailer furnished with furniture that missed a trip to the dump. The pictures for this unit are very deceptive! They missed the punched holes in the walls and the mildew spots on the bathroom door and walls. Had to use a plunger to get the water to drain from the...

We stay at this place based on the photos and reasonable price. We paid extra to get a bigger place. After we checked in, we were told that our lodge is ½ miles away from the office. We were shocked to find out the extra money we paid is a place next to highway and above the Tiki restaurant /bar....

“Probably any other but here”
  • Saw ants coming out in the toilet when flushed, opened the top and saw termite evidence
  • Very minor but you should remove the extra slats from the blinds so that it fits the windows
  • Not sure if this was a jet engine or an air conditioner, very loud and held in with plywood
  • Plywood covering a window
  • Floor was nasty not sure if it has been cleaned. A wet towel left on it and dried hard as a boar
  • Old furniture and some holes
  • Nothing like a vintage TV
  • First looks are okay
