Great stay! Room amenities were good! It was a pretty room but the bathroom really needs repair/updating. The pool was nice, the food there was yummy just didn't quite get why we had to get pool towels at the office. However, some restaurant staff were nice enough to go get them for us. Would go back there again.

My adult son and I stayed at the resort for two days. The food at the sand bar was terrific! The chef cooked up our freshly caught snapper, and our waiter was prompt and attentive. The small cabanas are setup for cooking, A/C units keep the place cool, and the motif is all about salt water fishing. I recommend this...

The hotel is in a beautiful spot. Beach is amazing. Pools and jacuzzi are great. But the rooms are not in a good condition. When we entered the room, there was a very strong smell of chlorine - that you usually come across in cheaper places. The range hood was rusty, the fridge was in a bad condition and the...

This was our sixth visit to the Islander. We just love it! I would call it an upscale but casual atmosphere -- room decor is crisp and beachy, and we really enjoy the lanai (screened patio), and there are also chairs for lounging right outside each room. A small kitchenette includes a full size frig, small dishwasher, sink and dishes,...

Unlike most hotels with limited or no space to unpack and store items from suitcases, the Guy Harvey had LOTS of drawers. The room was also quite spacious and included a kitchen area with a nearly full-size refrigerator, a 4-burner stove, tableware and cookware. A screened-in lanai with table and chairs was an added plus. Outside there are a number...

If this resort did not have the view it would be awful! We had lots of ants in our room and the hot tub did not work most of the week we were there. The staff are not overly friendly and the rooms are like a bad motel. Pictures on website give off a false sense that the rooms are...

Dear Lana K, I am so sorry the Islander Resort a Guy Harvey Outpost was not for you. We are an all ground level resort and that some times invites unwanted critters. I apologize ants came in the room. We have one of if not the longest man made beach in the Keys. The area is not known for its...

We've been coming to the Islander for about a dozen years, and it's always been great. There have been a few changes since Guy Harvey took over, it doesn't feel quite as much like a family run resort with tradition. But, it is still a wonderful spot on providing comfortable rooms, beautiful beach, and a good restaurant and bar. The...

Dear Brent P, Thank you for being such a loyal repeat guest. We value your opinion. The resort is still owned by the same great family and managed by the same corporation for many years. 3 years ago we adopted the Guy Harvey life style and made some changes. We feel we are still the great family resort our guest...

We were greeted by very friendly staff. they advised that we could walk across the street to Loreli's to see the sunset at happy hour, which we did. We drove past the trailer park across the road to get to our room. The room was as shown in the pictures. It had 2 double beds as ordered, but things were...

Dear drwayneb, I am so sorry The Islander Resort a Guy Harvey Outpost was not for you. I am not sure why you would have driven past a trailer park down the road to get to your room? All of our rooms are ground level. So occasionally we have uninvited creatures. Mosquitoes are Keys wide and even with the tightest...

Don't try this place! Expensive (to be polite), rooms are like a bad motel. The only saving grace is the restaurant, on the beach, good food and service. The rooms and areas around the rooms are run down, desperately in need of a face lift. Very little landscaping, dead grass all around. The "beach" as almost no sand, but reasonably...

Dear Ellen G, We are so sorry The Islander Resort a Guy Harvey Outpost is not for you. The resort was built in 1950 and is an iconic landmark in Islamorada. It has an "Old Florida" feel. We have a low key atmosphere and salt tolerant landscaping that appeals to almost everyone. Again we are sorry the Guy Harvey life...

The Islander is one of the few true Beach Resorts in the Keys, thanks to a huge effort to create a well maintained and groomed sandy waterfront. The rooms are basic, but all beautifully positioned with a great ocean view. There is ample poolside chairs and a nice bar and grill to enjoy F&B on the beach. Each room has...
