We loved the sands! The owners are a young couple that have just had the place 18 months so this is a recent review. Stayed 3 nights and enjoyed every minute! Their sign had been destroyed in a recent accident so it was a little hard to find right away but once we found it we love it. Small quaint...

OK, first the positive: The place is very quaint. The grounds are nice with beautiful views of the Atlantic. The rooms are tiny but very clean. Rooms 18 and 19 were the best with wrap around patios with hammocks and chairs. The staff is helpful and friendly. The pool spacious and clean, and the jacuzzi, except for sand in the...

When first pulling in I thought, I messed up. BUT, after entering, accommodations were incredible. The staff was friendly and courteous. The suite was spotless and beautifully appointed. Tropical vegetation, Tropical birds flourished. The pool and hot tub included for ones pleasure. We spent the first night at Breezy Palms, directly next door. It paled by comparison. It had warm...

I stayed here for one night on the way to Key West. It was an older location. The room was simple and clean. This hotel was good for a night passing through but I don't think I'd want to stay here too long.

After much research on Tripadvisor, we decided on this motel for our spring break trip to the Florida Keys. The rates were on the lower end for this area and time of year. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The room we booked for 4 nights was basic, but clean and well maintained. It was a great base for...

We booked 8 nights here. It was awesome. We had reserved expectations based on some of the rooms but those were quickly dispersed once Yeny showed us to our first room (15). It was a very quaint and clean room with all the amenities necessary for a great stay. Yeny and Alex were very attentive, friendly and helpful. Yeny and...

This property is in need of substantial improvement if it is to live up to its billing as a "resort hotel." When we arrived in Room #13, we found insects on the walls, on the air conditioner, and mosquitoes flying around. Their wi-fi was down, and Yeny said that their Comcast services doesn't always work. Although the room is said...

This property, mid-way down the Keys, is worthy of consideration. As the other reviewers highlighted, the property managers, really go the extra mile to ensure that you are welcome. Meeting Yeny is like meeting a friend that you have not seen in a while. We stayed in room #13, and it was very much as I expected from reading the...

This is what my husband and I wanted for a first time Islamorada visit. Yeny is above sweetness and works very hard to please their guests. Alex works sunrise to sunset cleaning and fixing up property, both deserve A+ for effort in updating the rooms. We loved the "old school vibe" memories from my high school days renting beach houses....

After a very long day's travel we arrived at the Sands of Islamorada to a very pleasant experience thanks to Yeny, the hotel manager. This facility has character and the rooms are spotless. It's nice to have a kitchenette in case you want a light meal although Yeny gave us great advise on restaurant options. The bed was very comfortable and everything...

An awesome, intimate escape right in the center of the Keys. All of our rooms have recently been refreshed from top to bottom. For a pet & people friendly tropical retreat...This is the spot. This is the kind of place Jimmy Buffett sings about. We are very Keysee and very clean! A sparkling pool and hot-tub with a view of the beach, boat launch and pier, await you.
