We've visited Key West on cruises in the past and have always wanted to visit for a few days. When we first started researching options we suffered a bit of sticker shock with the cost of vacation rentals/hotels in Key West. Our next challenge was availability or the lack thereof, which explains the high price tag. Eden House had fantastic reviews and did have one private room for the "budget traveler" available the dates we wanted so we took it. We loved the location, very walkable to everything. We simply parked our car for 3 days and ventured out, walking along blocks of lovely historic homes. Restaurants, bars, attractions were all in close proximity. The grounds of Eden House are pristine, the pool area is very zen like, especially when the waterfall is on. We enjoyed the happy hour and the bartender was very friendly. We also really appreciated the water cooler and the freshly brewed cold tea every day. With respect to the room we had, I mentioned "budget" and that it was. When we opened our door, the bed was right there inside the door next to the window. The room was tight, very little space for us to have both of our suitcases open and not a lot of room to move around in, especially as the sink was in the room. That being said, it was clean and the bed was very comfy. The rating of 4 is because of the room as it really wasn't sufficient for our needs however I would love to stay here again in a larger room.…
My fiance and I stayed at the Eden House for 2 nights in March. The location of the property is perfect while staying in Key West and not needing to drive. You can walk everywhere. The hotel is in a very safe area. We felt comfortable walking home at night. The grounds are amazing and tropical with a nice pool and hot tub and hammocks. Happy hour is complimentary at the bar each day at 4pm. The room we had and my parents' room were small, as advertised as a small deluxe room. Basic and ample accommodations in room. Would stay here again. Great customer service.
My husband and I spent a week at Eden House in April. We traveled to Key West with another couple. Everything about Eden House is centered on the guest's comfort and enjoyment. The rooms and grounds are pristine. The staff is friendly and helpful. We were welcomed upon arrival and received a tour of the hotel and its amenities. We enjoyed renting bikes to explore all of Key West, relaxing by the pool, happy hour pina coladas (the best in town), evening walks to the Historic Seaport area for dinner, and walks down Duval Street. Everything was in walking (or biking) distance, and far enough away from the crowds. One suggestion for guests...if you are not an early riser, request to not be placed in the lobby area. We were awakened early each morning (sometimes 5:30 AM) by early birds enjoying coffee and conversation at the coffee bar. There's nothing wrong with being an early bird, but that was not us :-) We will stay at Eden House again for sure!…
We spent two weeks at the Eden House in December. This was our 26th year and as usual it was fantastic. In the midst of the pandemic they had all the safety protocols in place. We felt completely safe with our stay. It is in a great location. It is within walking distance of a multitude of excellent restaurants and all the sites of Key West.
We paid almost $2000 for a three night stay, and, to be 100% honest, we’ve probably stayed in better hotels for half the money. So why a five star review? Three reasons… 1. Key West is a classic supply and demand situation (see also Venice) - finite space, high demand, therefore inflated prices. You COULD find cheaper, but probably not in as convenient a location, with such good facilities, and with such comfortable, well equipped rooms. 2. The staff were outstanding, bar none. And outstanding is a rarity in one member of staff, even more so with the three or four we dealt with… 3. There’s something about Eden House…atmosphere, vibe, history. We were sad to leave…and at that point, the money really didn’t seem to matter
This is an awesome hotel! We LOVED it. Happy hour from 4-6pm, clean facility, great pool and hot tub. Our room was quiet and towards the back of the hotel. Bed was soft and comfortable. Shower was hot with excellent pressure. The location was perfect and easily accessible to restaurants, Deval street, shops, and bars. Perfect for couples wanting to relax.
My husband, 6 year old daughter, and I stayed at Eden House for 5 nights (March 9- March 14). We stayed in an Apartment style room throughout our stay. The room was spacious and very comfortable! There was a full kitchen, with a breakfast bar, pull out sofa in the living room area, very comfortable queen sized bed, and a very large bathroom. We loved the porch and outside shower as well. We had a lot of privacy as well, which was really nice. My only critique of the room is the bathroom was a little dark- it would be very helpful to have a light above the shower. The pool and hot tub were really nice too! The pool temp. was always warm but still refreshing from the afternoon heat. I loved all the pool floats and noodles! The daily happy hour at the Tiki bar was great too! I wish the bar was open at other times of the day though. We loved our stay and hope to come back again!…
We would go back to Eden House in Key West. Parking was tight but as expected for Old Town Key West. Our room was just big enough and came with the unexpected surprise of a verandah right outside out door. We could sit under cover and enjoy the nice breeze and watch people go by on the street outside. A big bonus was we could see the stop for the Duvall Loop right outside the hotel. The Douvall Loop is a free city bus line that goes every 20-30 minutes to within a couple of blocks of pretty much anywhere in Key West you might want to go so if you stay at Eden House you won't need to Uber, Taxi, or Moped to get where you want to go. There was a nice pool and hot tub that was never over crowded and in general other guest were around but not so much as to be bothersome. The Window air conditioner worked just fine and the rest of the room was up to date, clean, and in like new condition. The bed and pillows were comfy and the fridge and micro wave were handy. The staff were very helpful on directions, things to do, and things to avoid. Stay away from the big chains and experience Key West the way it was meant to be in a Charming Local Inn in Old Town.…
We visited the Eden hotel in Feb 2022 for 4 nights. We found the hotel has a lot of beautiful outdoor space and lovely plants and trees. The pool is very inviting and the temperature perfect for cooling off in the warm afternoons. We liked renting their bikes and exploring the island. We enjoyed the fact that the hotel was away from the crowds and in a less touristy area. There’s a great organic cafe as well as the bakery down the street. A couple of improvements are needed: first is the WiFi. We could not get any connection in our room and limited outdoors. We expressed our disappointment with the desk and wrote an email to the manager and never heard back. Maddie at the front desk was very responsive and gave some good suggestions but the others were much less helpful. In terms of upgrades, some of the recliners at the pool are broken. Secondly the foliage is quite beautiful but there are dead poinsettias scattered throughout that should be discarded. It taints the overall experience. We enjoyed the overall Eden experience with some areas for improvement.…
Eden house is incredible! The room was really warm when we first got there because the a/c hadn't been turned on, but after that, everything was perfect! We loved the room and the private porch. The cute little out of the way hammocks were fabulous. The pool area was great. We loved every minute!
