This place is perfect. Great location . Clean hotel, staff was amazing. Special shout out to Michael at the back bar, he was so great to all of us. Truly great service. Rooms are clean , great views, food is good if you opt to eat in the hotel. Check in was a breeze And it never hurts to be treated with a glass of champagne as you check in. From start to finish just great experience.
Everything you could ask for in the heart of Old Town. Consistent outstanding Hyatt amenities and service. Beautiful water views from your balcony. Lovely little private beach and pool area. Location can't be beat.
Sadly resort uses window AC units which are very noisy. Will not be returning. They could not fix nor could they move us to another room. Given the cost of the room I was surprised by the cheap AC units
Prime location, beautifully appointed resort, appeared newly renovated supported by friendly professional team members. We highly recommend this resort and really enjoyed being able to walk to most of our desired spots. We only needed to utilize Uber to and from airport.
We've stayed at this property a half dozen or more times over the past several years. There's lots to love about this property but all the cutbacks and deferred maintenance (especially with VERY high room rates) are disappointing. First the good stuff: 1. The location is the best in Key West. You can't do any better. 2. The staff are very kind and service oriented. Special shoutout to Charlie at the front desk and Dan in the restaurant. These are two of Hyatt's absolute best (and we stay at a LOT of Hyatt properties). Both are examples of the "casual yet exceptional" service Hyatt has historically been known to provide. 3. The Blue Mojito bar/restaurant is very good and a decent value for the location. Try the Nachos! 4. Rooms are well sized and there are very few bad views. Onto the not so good: 1. The resort rooms are (very) tired. They desperately need a FULL and complete renovation to justify the rates being charged. This should have been done years ago. Furniture is cracked/dinged/broken. The TVs are too small. Cleanliness could also go up a notch as there were plenty of dust bunnies under our bed. 2. Lots of little cutbacks. They USED to do things like provide complimentary sunscreen at the pool, occasional treats like popsicles and jello shots, and other little fun things like that during the day. There even used to be modest welcome gifts for Hyatt loyalists like a couple of drink coupons upon arrival. No more. They even got rid of the floating dock (but still have signs up for it). The cutbacks really irk me because these little things add up and make a big difference in the overall experience. They make Hyatt special and justify the premium cost. It feels like pure GREED to cut back when room rates are SKY HIGH as they currently are... 3. Finally the entertainment used to be better. They used to have wonderful performers at the pool (not the bar, the pool) on the weekends, including small performing groups. This time we had the Jimmy Buffet-wannabee guy whose been around forever (and still seems to be calling it in with very little enthusiasm), AND an admittedly very good duo on Sunday. Wish they went back to having groups in the pool area as before rather than the corner next to the bar - but I'm sure the groups cost more and penny pinching is obviously THE priority. We enjoyed ourselves and will come back. We hope they consider bringing back the little things in order to better justify their rates AND they need to renovate the rooms, however.…
