I was visiting my undergrad daughter at the U. of Florida overnight & decided to try the bed & breakfast option instead of the usual chain hotel selections, and I am glad I did. Located in the prettiest little Victorian neighborhood you can picture, the Laurel Oak Inn is a destination in and of itself. Nicer than the photographs if...

Before my daughter started middle school we wanted to do an overnight together. The Laurel Oak Inn was beautiful, restful and local! We enjoyed the old fashioned ambiance with all the modern luxuries. Peggy even lent us a computer to watch a video. We slept in and enjoyed coffee, homemade scones and fresh fruit for breakfast (we were offered quiche...

We decided to stay here for our wedding anniversary. We live in town, but thought it would be fun to leave the teens at home and enjoy an evening to ourselves. I researched all the B & Bs in town but chose the Laurel Oak because it seemed more quaint....only five guest rooms. We were very pleased with our choice....

I loved every minute of our stay at this Gainesville Inn. We felt very welcomed by our gracious host Monta (Peggy was elsewhere). The room was clean and nicely appointed. Bed and bathroom were very clean, nice touches such as full sized bottles of Aveda shampoo and conditioner, they would hate the waste of small bottles! All the beds are...

Do yourself and your spouse a favor if your ever in the Gainesville area and stay here! Its close to everything, the inn is beautiful and the rates are very fair ( especially during football season). The hosts are quite accommodating from a cold beer being offered after a long drive upon your arrival to the delicious home made quiche...

Well we tried to book a hotel in Gainesville and the entire city was booked so I looked into B&B's to see if they were also sold out at the time I needed to be there... needless to say, Laurel Oak Inn was not full so we booked the room. I am sooo happy that the city was full as...

My stay at the tranquil and beautifully appointed Laurel Oak Inn was brief but very pleasant. My hosts at the University of Florida arranged my stay there and I am most grateful for not being put up in the usual vanilla flavor business hotel. Although I was busy and did not get much time to enjoy all the amenities, the...

We thoroughly enjoyed our one night at The Laurel Oak Inn, and it will certainly be our choice of places to stay next time we visit Gainesville. The innkeepers, Monta and Peggy, did an outstanding job of renovating a dismally treated old Victorian house. They treated the architecture with respect, yet made all the spaces very comfortable and beautiful. While...

I have stayed at Laurel Oak Inn 4 times and it just keeps getting better and better. I really cannot think of one bad thing to say. The owners are so amazing and do such a great job of making you feel at home. The rooms are beautiful and the food... amazing. I would recommend everyone traveling to the Gainesville...

The Inn is beautiful, the keepers are delightful and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. The Inn is located in a beautiful historic neighborhood close, walking distance from the shops and restaurants downtown. My room was very nice and comfortable. Highly recommended!
