Far from impressed. My room smelled like bleach it was hard to sleep. Had a ancient window air conditioner that was so loud. I left at 5 in the morning because I couldn't sleep. My friends had a room downstairs from me that smelled like...More
I have stayed here many times and keep coming back! I love the cottages and have stayed in both 1 and 2 bedroom models. We even had a friend event that booked every room (what happens in Ft Myers Beach stays in Ft Myers Beach)....More
As usual, this was the perfect stop over on the way home from south Florida. Sometimes it's our a brief getaway for a weekend, but now planning on an extended trip and will bring the boat next time !!!
This is our 8th year of coming here to Silver Sands. We just love this place and the staff...we stay in an efficency room with a private balcony/deck that we share with one other room that overlooks the main drag and gulf...so much fun laying...More
This little hideaway is just across the street from the beach. There are little cottages with own parking spaces and several rooms which has parking spaces on the street first come. The cottages are equipped with what you would expect TV, ref, stove, microwave.

Sorry, just saw this. Unit 21 is a studio on the lower level in the main building. It has a king bed, a love seat and bench. A Stand up shower in the bathroom, coffee pot, microwave and as medium size refrigerator. Around the corner from the pool. Please visit our website for more photos and a map of the property. There is also a virtual tour option on trip advisor and our site . Hope this helps

I am very familiar with Ft. Myers Beach, and Sanibel Island. I just recently stayed at the Silver Sands for the first time. Its a great place to stay!!! Sanibel is about 15 min. From Ft. Myers beach. Even with the seasonal traffic. On the way back, you might be looking at an hour depending on traffic heading to the beach. The Sanibel bridge has a $6-7 toll. Remember to take beach shoes. Sanibel beach, because of all the shells is hard to walk on. When you get over the Sanibel bridges you will come to a 4 way stop intersection. Make a left and follow the road all the way down to the public beach. You'll have to pay a couple dollars to park. There you will find the public beach, fishing pier, and the Sanibel light house!! There are great places to eat on Sanibel. But remember Sanibel has only two lanes of traffic. One going in, one going out. So traffic can really back up if you want to explore the rest of the island. Check the tide schedule. You'll want to go shelling at low tide. There is also a shell museum on Sanibel. Also Ding Darling Nature Preserve which I recommend if you'd like to see the best of Fla birds and nature while driving through the preserve. (The gators are almost at the end)! So make a day of it, happy shelling!!!!!
