I’ve stayed in many Doubletrees and this is the worst. It’s grimy. Look at these pictures. What happened?? Like a random table in the “living room” with two different chairs up against a damn door. It’s gross in here.
This hotel is located in the middle of everything you want. You have the canal right in the back of the hotel, is within walking distance to a beautiful beach and has a great pool. The rooms are clean and well sanitized. There are numerous great restaurants within walking distance. Max, the Front Office Supervisor, is amazing and goes above and beyond to ensure we received everything we needed to ensure our stay was relaxing and enjoyable. Recently most places I have been to stay, eat, or shop have not always been as helpful and use COVID-19 as an excuse for not assisting in my needs and or concerns.
The front desk staff was extremely helpful during check in. All the common areas are in great shape and COVID protocols are implemented while maintaining a high quality customer experience. Amoy behind the front desk was especially helpful. Would highly recommend staying here.
This was one of the dirtiest hotels I've stayed in. We rented multiple rooms and they were all bad, so it wasn't just "one bad apple". The carpet was dirty and had holes in it, and there was paint peeling off of the walls and doors. And to make matters worse, we didn't have hot water the first day. Fortunately they were eventually able to get it fixed, but taking a cold shower after a long day was not fun! Their customer service is also horrible! I had an issue with my bill that after multiple phone calls was never resolved despite being told it would be. Asha wasn't polite on the phone at all! I have no idea how she works in customer service.
I'd planned to just enjoy spending my time (and money) at the property because of COVID-19. Unfortunately, all on property restaurants and Starbuck's were closed which forced me to venture out for meals. Luckily there are several fast food and fine dining options, a convenience store and a grocery store within walking distance so it wasn't too bad. The mall was also a convenient option for meals and shopping, as well as utilizing the water taxi that stops right at the property. I suggest you stop to pickup some cleaning supplies because the room only felt superficially cleaned. I found many long brunette hairs everywhere so I didn't feel good about it being clean by pre COVID standards so definitely not clean enough during a pandemic. The kitchenette would be useful for fixing meals if you're up for it. The daytime staff working the front desk left alot to be desired. A bit of an unprofessional attitude and the young lady working while I was waiting to checkout was on a personal call and wasn't even professional enough to put the call on hold and do her job first. The bright side...I was not happy with my first room assignment and Matt who was working check-in quickly switched my room to a higher floor as requested. I was really glad he did when I found out my original floor was pretty much a loud party floor. Totally not my vibe despite my last name. I found the gentlemen working the valet stand to be really polite and helpful as well.…
