From the minute we arrived we felt like regulars. Mary and her super friendly team warmed us after our ferry ride with hot tea and a roaring fire and from that moment on until we hit the mainland again we completely switched off from all the every day stressors. The room was perfect, the food and the ambience were delightful and we were free to entertain ourselves with the scenic delights of such an incredibly beautiful island. We honestly cannot find one thing not to like about our stay and will most certainly be planning a return visit later this year. Thank you to Mary and to the whole team. Had a wonderful time on Tory Island and our time there was made all the more enjoyable by the homely, down to earth welcome we got by the manager and team at this hotel. There were a number of lovely gestures displaying the kindness and humanity that is seldom evident at your mainstream hotels. Great traditional Irish music and popular songs on the Saturday night in front of a roaring fire. Hope to make a return visit next year.
We stayed at the Tory Island Hotel for 2 nights and we’re treated to comfortable rooms, beautiful home-cooked food, and an exceptional level of customer service that you rarely come across. The landlady really went the extra mile to ensure we had an excellent stay on Tory. Amazing! Thank you very much for having us and we will definitely visit again!
We got of the boat and could check in straight away. The hotel is nice. It is more like a B&B. Nevertheless it is cosy. The food was delicious and the staff were lovely. We really enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend Tory Island and a sleep over here.
We stayed here for an overnight, checked in when we got off the ferry, had lunch which was lovely, ordered tea, still waiting on it, went sightseeing, beautiful place and scenery, had a beautiful meal that evening, went up to the club for a while, came back around 11pm, there was a sing song on which went on till 3,45 am, got very little sleep, had a beautiful breakfast in the morning, was really looking forward to a nice shower, water was cold,, would have liked to wash my hair but i just wasn't brave enough, mentioned about the loud singing into the wee small hours and also mentioned about the cold water, lady at desk apologised for both and she did mention she previously had a complaint from other guests about the loud music, i just felt the customer care was very much lacking here,…
Do you remember the TV show fantasy Island, well I honestly think we found it. From the time we got off the ferry all our wishes were their command. The weather was warm but not too hot. The hotel staff were just so kind and friendly, Mary was like our second Mammy and nothing was too much trouble. Our oldest son brought his working dog Ike and this hotel is so dog friendly, Ike had his own bed in Luke's room. Oisin our 20 yr old and Arwen our 15 year old fished every day and never failed to catch a fish or three! My husbnd Brendan is a musician and it was his 50th birthday and after dinner Mary surprised us with champagne and then Bren, who is a musician, sang and played all night long, which was a dream come true. I swam in the harbour every day and we ate rings around us! Do not eat the cheesecake - it is incredibly addictive. This is an autism friendly hotel and the staff's level of disability awareness was a pleasure to behold. The only down side to Tory is at the end of the day you have to leave...but never fear, we are planning a sneaky mid week break before the autumn hits.... Be warned, once you go once you can't ever go anywhere else....if you have an addictive personality you have been warned....Thorai abu. We'll be back Pauline Brendan and the tribe…
We went to the Harbour View Hotel restaurant on two occasions during our week-long stay on Toraí. Both nights we had lobster which was incredible, along with beautiful bread and excellent desserts of apple pie and aero mint cheesecake. Tracey was a delightful server, and made our experience memorable. She even brought out a birthday sundae for one of us! 10/10, cant wait to come back!
Popped to Óstán Thoraí for lunch while on a day trip to Tory Island. I got the seafood chowder, it was full of fresh fish, the best seafood chowder I’ve ever had! The bar was decorated with beautiful stained glass windows & there’s a lovely outdoor beer garden. I met the owner who was very welcoming. Staff were friendly & very accommodating of my dog. Would love to go back & stay in the hotel some time.
We stayed at the harbour hotel on the 14-15 August. The hotel is lovely and clean with nice big bedrooms. Mary and her staff made us so welcome. Mary is such an elegant lady with endless energy. Any request we had was dealt with quickly and with a smile. We had a beautiful meal in the restaurant followed by a fancy cocktail. We even stayed an extra night. Thank you again for such a memorable stay. We can't wait to come back.
Went here with my mum for the night. We arrived on a sunny September Sunday the weather was unreal. The hotel is lovely and situated beside the pier. The hotel was busy which was great. Patricia was handing over the hotel to the new owner Mary who was a joy to deal with. The rooms are clean and the food was delicious our breakfast was plentiful and not at all rushed. It was so relaxing I could have stayed there all day the view from the dining groom was stunning. If I was a single person travelling I wouldn't feel out of place here as I noticed many ppl on their own. We did the lighthouse side on the Sunday and then headed the other side on the Monday. The island is so safe as a female I would definitely venture out on my own. Its a joy to have an island like this so near to home. Wishing Mary all the very best with the hotel I hope to be back in the Spring or when the sea is a little calmer.…
