Myself and my friend called to the hotel, wet and cold, (and maybe even a bit tired after a 7km walk in the rain); we got a lovely warm welcome. We were invited into the bar area - clean and comfortable with a lovely toasty turf fire- and we ordered tea and scones. We were also offered toast - nothing was too much trouble, and we relaxed and recharged in lovely surroundings. The lady who served us (we think her name was Mary) was very chatty and friendly as well as knowledgeable for our queries about the island, and we really felt at home while spending our time at the hotel. We enquired about the nearby art gallery (unfortunately it was closed at the time of our visit), but Mary very kindly showed us artwork from a local artist which was hanging in the dining room. That room itself is so lovely, just looking out at the harbour and away from the dreadful weather we had. Our visit was during the Covid 19 restrictions, and there was lots of appropriate sanitiser, signage and controls in place, so we felt very safe. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, we hope to come back soon again, it's great to find hospitality like that! Thanks Mary!

Stayed in the dog friendly Harbour View Hotel on Tory this week and what an experience it was....absolutely wonderful. A warm welcome to all the guests from Mary who greeted each of us by name and with a huge smile. In fact, all the staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed was sooo comfortable. The weather was glorious so Glenedd Nelson (Dog) and i went for a long ramble around the cliffs and neolithic cairns. The food was excellent and the fish so fresh I could taste the sea. Hotel is 2 mins walk from the ferry so very convenient when pulling luggage. A perfect day was rounded off with the musicians in the Social Club playing foot tapping tunes and songs (all socially distant from each other, I hasten to add). As ever on Tory, met some great people who helped me get Glenedd on and off the boat and also a group walking from Tory to Loughcrew visiting and cleaning holy wells. A perfect 24 hours....even the rain on the second day couldn't dampen my rejuvenated spirits. Thank you Mary and all your staff for the welcome and the quality of the service and food.

We stayed at the Tory Island Hotel for 2 nights and we’re treated to comfortable rooms, beautiful home-cooked food, and an exceptional level of customer service that you rarely come across. The landlady really went the extra mile to ensure we had an excellent stay on Tory. Amazing!

Thank you very much for having us and we will definitely visit again!

The staff were friendly. Hotel was very cold and there was no heating anywhere in the hotel even though the weather was very unseasonably cold and wet.

The room we had was tired looking and needed a revamp. The new owners who have recently taken over might like to update the room at some point.

I think breakfast could have included beans tomatoes and mushrooms. 1 each of bacon sausage egg and black/white pudding looked lost on plate. 4 slices of toast between 3 when 1 person only had toast but had paid for a full breakfast was a little mean. Did ask for more toast which was brought over. 1 more slice each. However I do have to say that although cold and having to wear coats in dining hall, the fish and chips were the best I have ever had anywhere!

Just wish the hotel had a warm welcome when we arrived on a cold wet day, and the breakfast could be improved. I wish the new owners a successful future and that my comments are taken as positive criticism in moving forward.

Hotel was clean but needs a bit of an update. Check in was difficult as we were told it was at 12 noon but the rooms were not ready until 2pm and when we returned for check in at 2pm it proved to be difficult with the staff walking past us rather than check us in, a little disappointing to be honest. The bedrooms are basic but adequate with a decent bathroom although shower is a bit poor and it needs a new shower curtain. The food was very good and reasonable too including breakfast which was excellant. We stayed overnight and the people on the island were very friendly. The views were fab but you need to be a walker to get to the best parts. Very peaceful and quite for a relaxing overnight. There is very little to do on the Island itself. The ferry to the Island is about 50minutes and although we had a nice journey it could be rough in bad weather.

From the minute we arrived we felt like regulars. Mary and her super friendly team warmed us after our ferry ride with hot tea and a roaring fire and from that moment on until we hit the mainland again we completely switched off from all the every day stressors. The room was perfect, the food and the ambience were delightful and we were free to entertain ourselves with the scenic delights of such an incredibly beautiful island. We honestly cannot find one thing not to like about our stay and will most certainly be planning a return visit later this year. Thank you to Mary and to the whole team. Went here with my mum for the night. We arrived on a sunny September Sunday the weather was unreal. The hotel is lovely and situated beside the pier. The hotel was busy which was great. Patricia was handing over the hotel to the new owner Mary who was a joy to deal with. The rooms are clean and the food was delicious our breakfast was plentiful and not at all rushed. It was so relaxing I could have stayed there all day the view from the dining groom was stunning. If I was a single person travelling I wouldn't feel out of place here as I noticed many ppl on their own. We did the lighthouse side on the Sunday and then headed the other side on the Monday. The island is so safe as a female I would definitely venture out on my own. Its a joy to have an island like this so near to home. Wishing Mary all the very best with the hotel I hope to be back in the Spring or when the sea is a little calmer.

We recently visited Tory Island on a day trip and popped into the hotel for a quick snack. We were warmly greeted by Mary, which was a welcome relief after finding some of the locals to be somewhat aloof. The hotel is very cosy and our snack was very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back again to try the afternoon tea! Wishing Mary the very best of luck with her new endeavour. We'll be back!

Popped to Óstán Thoraí for lunch while on a day trip to Tory Island. I got the seafood chowder, it was full of fresh fish, the best seafood chowder I’ve ever had! The bar was decorated with beautiful stained glass windows & there’s a lovely outdoor beer garden. I met the owner who was very welcoming. Staff were friendly & very accommodating of my dog. Would love to go back & stay in the hotel some time.

We went to the Harbour View Hotel restaurant on two occasions during our week-long stay on Toraí. Both nights we had lobster which was incredible, along with beautiful bread and excellent desserts of apple pie and aero mint cheesecake. Tracey was a delightful server, and made our experience memorable. She even brought out a birthday sundae for one of us!
10/10, cant wait to come back!
