In a previous review of the Meranova Inn I heaped tons of praise on the location, the proprietors, the service, the accommodations, and the breakfasts. All were way above my expectations for a Bed and Breakfast. Sadly, the Inn has been sold. Can the new owners meet the high stand

Hello Harry, I'd just like to clarify a few things and apologize you feel that way. There were and are other rooms available. We tried our best to make every guest wishing to return happy, with the information we were given from the previous owners. We would have loved to have you back for your 11th year and we are sad to miss out on getting to know you! The details: We honored every reservation already in the system. However, the system had zero reservations in it for next year as David kept it blocked so we could get organized with the list of regulars hoping to stay. It was a handwritten "wish list" for next season that had multiple overlapping possible reservations. He said the people on the list were regulars but may not all actually want to book for those exact dates or rooms. Some had names, rooms and dates noted. Some just had names and months. Your's said simply "Your first names and your dates", nothing else. They were wishes (not reservations) based on his conversations with guests that had stayed last season. I had to look for quite a while to match contact info with guest names, rooms and dates. They have 20yrs of guest info to search through, not all online and not easily searchable. You'll notice, no last name was given or room for your wishes. I went through the list in order (there were 10 guests ahead of you) and emailed or called if I could find a phone number. By the time I got to you, there was one room left for your dates but not your favorite room. I am truly sorry, but we did the best we could with the information we were given. We would have happily booked you into the "standing reservation room" had we known you wanted that room only and were for sure going to book it. I had no idea you wanted the "standing reservation room" until I emailed you and found out it was "your room" for the last 10yrs. We most definitely have honored everyone's loyalty and tried our best to keep people in the rooms they wish for the upcoming season. We do have the possibility of cancellations and we do have other rooms available currently for your dates, if you take a look at our recently updated website. I hope you would try one of the currently available rooms instead of being unhappy and missing out on a stay at the Meranova. We have 7 other gorgeous rooms, all are special. We trained with Frank and David for the first 6wks trying to perfect everything they've been doing for the last 20yrs but it may take us more than a couple months to become as great as them, we can only hope! We have owned it for 3 months and think we have done quite a decent job thus far. We've had returning guests multiple times so far, whose only complaint is they miss the guys company. The standards of rooms, hospitality and food have been maintained. We aren't Frank and David, but we try to be as hospitable and fun! It will take time to perfect Frank's wit and recipes but I'm certainly trying as the new head chef. I can cook most of his popular recipes thanks to his teaching and support. We hope you'll come visit and see that not much has changed and we are keeping everything as good as they would or making it better in our own way. They have pushed us to make it our own and we are grateful for that. We couldn't have done this without their amazing support. They have been very supportive of this transition and want nothing but good to come of this new ownership! Meranova was their pride and joy for 20yrs, we intend to keep that way for the next 20yrs at least.

"All rooms are nice as you can see on the web site but we are glad we choose The Art Deco Room"
"Asian, the Cottage and Art Deco have porches. Back and second floor rooms quieter, bu this is only an issue on weekends."
"All rooms are great, but we prefer the Cottage as it's a separate building."
"Ask Frank and David if you have any preferences - all rooms will be spotless!"
"The Art Deco is my favorite, you have your own little porch with a secluded view of Main Street."
