Overall I would rate this LQ Property an 8 out of 10. If you are there in the off season you will need something to put on your feet since all rooms have tile floors. It does not seem like much but is was cool and rainy. The first room shower had very little water pressure so I asked for a new room which the staff accommodated. The breakfast had fewer choices than most other LQ's. I would return but only at discount rate.

Our first floor beachfront room was very convenient to the beach and pool. No carpet which is great for sandy feet. Room was a good size, parking on site unlike some of the other hotels on the beach we saw. Walking distance (approx. 10-15 min) to the pier, shopping and restaurants.

Staff was very nice and polite and understanding. TV in our room did not work and it was early evening. I reported it to the staff and they told me they can move me to another room or wait until the next day when maintenance person comes in. I asked if we can get another TV from a different room instead of us moving. The two staff members said ok but they don't know how to connect the TV. I offered my assistance and they were ok with it. We swapped the TV from another room that was going through remodeling and connected the cables.

The property is outdated. The rooms had a bad smell that could not get rid of it even leaving the balcony door open all day. There are visible damages to the wall caused by the entry door (no door stopper). Bathroom smelled badly as well. We left the bathroom fan running non-stop but did not help. Bath tub water tap was very difficult to stop to prevent water from running constantly. The key card had to be swiped multiple times in order to open the door. The door got locked one day and the maintenance person had to enter the room from the balcony of the neighboring room to open it from inside and the handle fell off.
Hopefully the renovation will make things better but definitely the bad smell needs to be managed as it really is bad. It takes some time to adjust to the smell once you enter the room.

Our family booked two nights at this hotel. On our first day, the health inspector shut down the pool due to lack of care, and safety concerns. When this happened, we went to our room and found cockroaches. Not only this, but the cleaning service did a very poor job cleaning- which was our top concern due to COVID. Before booking, we were assured that La Quinta was taking all precautions with cleaning each room and providing social distancing regulations with the pool. The room looked like it was vacant for awhile and was not cleaned in preparation of our stay. The rooms smelled like Marijuana and even had people smoking right outside of our room and the front lobby. We refused to stay and told the front desk our concerns; however, the General Manager, Steven, was very unprofessional, refused to give us a refund and threatened our family. I have never been more disgusted by a hotel and the customer service of the employees. Definitely do NOT recommend- save your money and go somewhere else. I wouldn’t even give this hotel a 1 star; however, it’s needed to submit this review.

Good morning. Thank you for your review. We will be sure to share this with our staff. I as the General Manager never made any threats of any kind to you or your family. The pool in question was down due to the pool cleaning company putting too much of the powder required in the filters thereby causing the cloudy look. Within hours the pool was clear and ready to be reopened. It was in fact reopened the very next morning so I apologize that you were inconvenienced about three hours (pool closes at dusk) due to its closure to ensure the safety of everyone. Your concern of being threatened was when you started to move around the desk and one of the staff members addressed protocol with advisement that if you do he will be forced to notify authorities. The "cockroach" that you claimed to have seen was only brought up after the refusal to refund you for a night that you stayed and had no issue with. We did cancel your following nights with no additional cost to you. We informed you that we were unable to provide you a receipt due to your reservation being prepaid through a third party agent and advised you to reach out to them. You questioned my honesty and professionalism that I would steal your money by not returning it after you left. Every attempt to discuss my decision resulted in you repeating your problems. You consistently mentioned that you arrived at 12:30am and said you should be refunded because you arrived so late and that you have three children. We have no control over anyone's travel plans and the room which you reserved was ready for you and your entire family's arrival at 3pm the day prior. It is apparent that there was no intent on your part to accept any compromise other than a full refund and I can't authorize that based on events that took place after the first nights stay went without incident. We wish you the very best and we will continue to work hard to keep our property safe, clean and welcoming to all that wish to stay here.

Paid for a room w/ a view of the pool and ocean so I could watch the kids. Pool was closed first two days, had to beg for towels and toilet paper, staff is UNFRIENDLY and location is NOT managed. The housekeepers act as the front desk clerk but only if they are cleaning near it or in the lobby and see you waiting. So if you wanna check in I’d suggest walking around the property because you’ll likely find a member of the staff stalking around the halls on their cell phones but you’ll have to wait for them to finish their personal call. When the pool did open, it was nasty and polluted w/ glass along w/ the pool deck so you’ll have to walk around the glass or wear shoes... at all times. Don’t take the top thin cover off the bed because the actual comforter has holes where the stuffing comes out. Never once was our room cleaned, restocked, nothing. Claim to be pet friendly but there isn’t ONE patch of grass where your pet can use the restroom.

They do not deserve your hard earned money.

This hotel is very clean and affordable. Right on the beach and convenient. We got a pet friendly room and it was very nice clean and did not smell. One thing I wish other pet owners would do is clean up after your own pet in the area they are supppsed to go. Be responsible.
The tv is limited to very few stations which I am finding more and more and I’m assuming the cable companies are to blame for that. They are greedy.
The breakfast is included and there’s bacon and eggs and bagels, toast , pastries, yogurt, waffles. Very clean area too. Not pet friendly.
Pets are not allowed on the beach. Big fine

Be prepared to pay for parking off site if you stay here on a weekend. Rude customer service in hotel lobby. We will not stay here again. Very disappointing, rude front office staff, no cleaning crew ever came to room, had to hut down clean towels, overall bad experience.

I stayed there on a personal trip and was very impressed with the property. The hotel has a great curb appeal, the room is spacious, and the linen was very crisp clean and smelled fresh. Clean bathroom with nice soft towels.

gave "excellent" considering its a 2.5 rated hotel. sure, lots of chipped paint, patch plaster, wear on the curtains, loose faucets, just an old hotel. but the location was perfect for my grandkids, on the beach, nice pool and hot tub. Clean inside and out, (especially that close to a sandy beach). Pets are allowed and we use to stay at LaQuinta because of that so be prepared. Staff and customers were friendly. the breakfast was sufficient, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuit and gravy, yogurt, some fruit, hot and cold cereal. The price for two nights with 3 kids and 2 adult suite (2 queen+ sofa bed) was about the same price as down the road a bit for one. free parking (valet usually adds another $20-50) parking is tight with an overflow across the road.

Do not waste you money going here. If it hadn't been that the breakfast was good, I would not have given it a 2. We were not informed that there was no beach access from this hotel and would need to carry all our beach chairs, umbrellas etc over to the next hotel's parking lot to gain beach access. We were told that the seawall was damaged by Hurricane Ian when I spoke with housekeeping lady. That was September of 2022. It still is not fixed and debris from the damage is still on their beach. The pool was filthy. I realize that it is a beachside pool but it wasn't until later in the afternoon that a man came and hosed off the deck and cleaned up the beach debris on the deck. The bottom of pool was covered with sand and it was not cleaned up. The beds were comfortable but the cover for the mattress on the sofa was soiled. When brought to the attention of the staff, the "manager" said he could not change it out and wanted to move us to another room. We were settled in and declined. Friends that we were with were not going to use the sofa bed and so we switched mattresses with their sofa bed. The lovely fountain in the courtyard had green water in it and it did not run continuously. A gallon of Clorox could have fixed it. We have stayed at numerous hotels and resorts on the West coast of the state and have never encountered these issues. I think when reservations were made, visitors should be informed of the ongoing damage and inconvenience of pool access. I am certain this young man who presented himself as the "Manager" was not. If so he needs to be sent to classes on how to accommodate visitors when there is a real hygiene issue. All of this for a low price of $279/night. I would not recommend this facility to anyone.

Is there a handicap pool lift

Dear Guest Thank you so much for giving me an opportunity to answer this question. I fully understand your concerns after reviewing the responses from other guests. It is unfortunate that we don't have too many people to talk about our hotel that has loved their stays. We pay close attention to the rooms as far as cleanliness is concerned. Staff is here super friendly and professional. I believe we do things differently and some guests lately coming up with some reasons that are hard to comment. We have started parking fee and will start pet fee moving forward which is and has upset many repeat guests. Renovations is ongoing but not heavy where we cannot manage things. Also, we do not participate in any kind of solicitation to offset negative comments which is doable by spending a small amount of fee. I decided not to do it as it misleads and misguide our guests. In nutshell all I can say is that come try us and see by yourself. If you have any further questions or concerns then please do not hesitate to me contact me directly at the hotel. I am the General Manager who can answer all your questions without any hesitation. I hope I was able to provide you some feedback to decide, but i must add our occupancy has increased tremendously. We are outperforming our compset which includes some big hotels in terms of occupancy. That being said we are surely doing something that guests love here, and it is true that we cannot make everyone happy nor I would involve in discounting for a positive review. You have a wonderful weekend and thank you again for your concern. I am happy you are not fully convinced about negative review which means I have room to show you our service style.
