Hilton Vacation Club Mystic Dunes Orlando offers a variety of amenities that earn praise from guests, including multiple pools and spacious rooms with full kitchens. While the resort's activities and room sizes are popular, some travelers have voiced concerns over additional fees and dated room features. Cleanliness receives mixed reviews, with inconsistencies noted in housekeeping quality. The atmosphere is similarly varied, with renovations improving some rooms, but others remain outdated. Although the location is deemed convenient by many, the value is questioned due to extra charges, and while staff are often friendly, service can be hit or miss.

We traveled for a soccer tournament at Disney's Wide World of Sports. I chose this hotel 1) because of the price (cheapest around) and 2) because of the space you get. I don't like being crammed into one room for a week with my husband and 2 kids. I also like to cook a few meals to save some money. This fit the bill!

I wasn't sure if we were able to book here since it was a Vacation Club, I didn't know if you had to be a member, but I called and they advised that you do not need to be a member. I was concerned, based on reviews, of the wait at check in, and then the "pitch" to buy a time share. We did wait quite a bit at check in, 20 minutes to pre-check in (we arrived before check in but were able to pre-check and then they texted us when our room was ready) and then probably another 30-40 when our room was ready to actually get our keys, but because of the reviews, we were prepared for the wait so it didn't seem that bad. The welcome center is very clean, and the employees were extremely nice. We had a large group of 5 families so I asked if we could be put near each other, they did their best. 3 families were in the next building, a few were the next group of buildings over and then a few more were in other buildings, but no one super far.

The Pitch wasn't terrible, after pre-check in, they sent us to the Concierge for a parking pass. Concierge gave her schpeal but we just declined. They did call the room every day to try to pitch it again, we just stopped answering the phone. Overall, not super annoying.

The room was great! So much space. We have 2 kids 12 and 9, and my husband and myself. The kids room had 2 queen beds, we had a king. The kids beds were extremely comfortable, and they had more than enough room for themselves and their stuff. They had their own bathroom, too.

Our bed was awful, but I have a bad back and it didn't flare me up so that's good for me. It definitely needs to be changed, though. The pillows were fine. Our bathroom was MASSIVE. We had a handicapped room, I wasn't sure if the extra space was for a wheel chair or that's just how the rooms were set up. We had 2 showers, the kids also had their own, so 3 showers total. Again, not sure if this was due to it being a handicapped room or how all the rooms are. Plenty of towels.

The kitchen was small, and minimally equipped with a few pots, pans, a baking sheet, a casserole dish, strainer, huge bowl, small bowl, plates, bowls, silverware, cups, and a few cooking utensils. Also included a stove and range, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher, and full size fridge. It was enough for us for the week. We ran to Walmart, which is super close, and got a few quick cooking items. Definitely saved us a ton of money vs. going out every meal.

They provided coffee, but I opted to buy coffee filters and coffee at Walmart because I'm slightly picky about coffee. It was a full size coffee maker, not a Keurig.

The kitchen also had a washer-dryer combo, but I know a few of our families had a stackable. Either way, it was useful as it rained ALL weekend for the soccer tournament and we did probably about 5 loads of laundry and used the dryer option quite often to dry our clothes. I love having a washer/dryer when traveling!

The living room was nice, simple, but nice. The couch was comfortable. I believe it folded out, we never did it but there was a set up for it in the closet. There were 2 chairs, plus the dining room table. The kitchen also had an overhang where there were a couple stools. Plenty of seating for everyone!

There was a lanai, which we sat on quite often. It was totally screened in so we were able to keep the doors open for fresh air.

Lastly there was plenty of closet space. One when you first walk in, one in the kids room and one in our room. Plenty of space to store our luggage so we weren't tripping over them all week.

The grounds were immaculate. There were at least 4 (heated) pools. The pool nearest us had a water slide, I'm not sure if they all did. The slide attendant was SO nice and friendly. Remembered our kids every time they went. There was also a tiki bar, although the wait for drinks was kind of ridiculous, and overpriced, but delicious for the couple we got. They also had cabanas for rent, we didn't rent one but a few were open and they had table, chairs, and a tv. Woudl be great during the hot summer!

We also played pickleball (we brought our own, but they had them to borrow) and tennis (also available to borrow). There were plenty of games and activities to do. There was an activities schedule provided when you checked in. We didn't do any of them, because the kids got sick, but there was plenty of stuff to do and they looked fun. Some were free, some cost money.

We had a team dinner at the banquet room at Kenzies restaurant, just pizza salad and wings, it was super convenient and easy to work with Frank to set up. A little pricy for what we got, but the convenience made it worth it.

All in all I was super happy with this resort, and definitely would come back. Both of my kids got sick immediately off the plane, and a few days later the other kid picked it up. I was so thankful to have the extra room so they could sleep and we could still be up and watching TV, eating, etc. I was able to work with the free wifi, which was reliable. Texting for towels, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, etc, was so convenient. Clean. Very close to the parks. Plenty of (free) parking. We were there for 7 days, and they came mid-week to do a cleaning.

I'd absolutely recommend this resort!

we wanted a 2 bed room hotel, choices were down to homewood suite and other hotels like that or the vacation clubs by Hilton, Marriott etc
we chose the Hilton vacation mystic dunes for the first part
its close to Disney parks (10-15 minutes drive at most)
the check in was smooth
it was a 2 bed apartment with 2 bath room full kitchen and washer and dryer.
there was a good size fridge, microwave and dishwasher etc.
living room was large with big size tv
one bed room had an open bath with tub as well as shower area while the other bath room was not attached to the bed room
the beds were comfortable, rooms were generally clean with some minor issues
there is a large balcony that has netting to prevent bugs from flying into the room
garbage is collected daily by 9 am
there is no daily house keeping
there were multiple pools that are not very big and were little bit crowded
table tennis is not worth mentioning (concrete table with wooden tables)
there are areas for basket ball etc
the grounds are huge and guarded by security
would recommend this for families with children due to facilities and location
multiple restaurants nearby as well as walmart supercenter

This was our second time staying at this resort. It is amazing! We were in a renovated bedroom/2 bath unit. It has so much space! Master shower is great. The full kitchen had everything we needed to host our local friends for dinner - we used the grills to bbq burgers and made sides in the oven - just like home! The unit has an abundance of closet space, so pool toys and suitcases had a place out of sight. Our unit had a stackable washer/dryer. It also had a really big balcony.
The ceiling fans in the unit made the air flow nicely, and it was never too warm. The second bedroom was a bit stuffy, but a fan fixed that.
The resort pools are great. The Dunes Lagoon pool with the waterfall and slide is great for kids. We spent hours in that pool (and it did completely ruin/fade my swimsuit - haven't had that happen in years, so beware), kids did the poolside activities- bingo, hulahoop contest, making bracelets, and the gatorland guy. The tower pool is much quieter and makes for a relaxing afternoon.
As hilton diamond members, we did do the vacation club presentation. It was quick and we got a few nice perks/points out of it.
100% would stay here again! It's a very quiet resort. We never even came across any other guests except in the pool area.

Upon check in the lobby is very nice but I think all lobbies are. We drove to our building which was a short drive down the road. It felt kind of like we were at a low class apartment complex. The elevator was obviously very old, things needed to be updated but it was fine. We got a 1 bedroom suite so you have to scan your card to get in the first door and then scan your card again to go in your door and next door is your neighbors. First night the neighbors complained about us so the walls must be extremely thin, we have kids but they weren't doing anything out of the ordinary, we have never gotten a noise complaint ever and our oldest is 9. Also, the worst part of our whole vacation a guy who apparently worked for the hotel came to tell us we were being too loud wearing a mask with a creepy skull mouth on it wearing all black. Super creep. Day 2 we got roped in to listening to Hilton Honors timeshare deal, they told us it would be 2 hours, it was well over 3 and they kept sending us to someone new everytime we said no, eventually we just walked out. We were gone all day and didn't come back until nighttime. Day 3 we went to the pool which was great. It was clean and beautiful but if you think you can order drinks from the Tiki bar they are not open the whole time, only randomly. It takes 40 minutes to get extra towels or sheets so call ahead of time. The next morning we had no coffee so I asked in the lobby and they told me they didn't have any except decaf. Seriously what hotel doesn't have coffee?? I didn't believe them so I stopped and asked a cleaning lady and she had coffee, surprise. Also, anytime you use the stovetop/oven the smoke alarm goes off every 2 minutes despite having the door to the outside open and the fans on, AWFUL. Overall the experience was ok but I would NEVER voluntarily choose this place, the only reason we were here was because they offered us a deal for viewing the timeshare presentation. Don't stay here, we will continue staying at our home2suites with better service and free breakfast.

Booked with Interval International as a vacation timeshare exchange 6 month prior to date of travel due to lack of availability at our usual Marriott Property. The complex is huge with 4 pools, mini golf, bike rentals etc. While the amenities offered are nice, the lack of adequate service and outdated rooms prevent me from ever staying here again. None of the phones in our 2 bedroom condo worked and despite 4 requests to have them fixed- the issue was not addressed until the next to last day of our stay. We were not given enough towels and washcloths and when we called from our cell to request delivery- nothing was provided until the following morning. The units are VERY dated AND there are hardly any kitchen utensils rendering it very difficult to prepare a meal.
The secondary bedroom is so small that the door cannot open fully without forcing it past the edge of the bed.
When I went into the Resort lobby I was shocked to see DOZENS of staff in uniform behind the concierge desk with no lines of customers which makes me wonder why service requests were as slow as they were.

I won't be back and I don't recommend this place.

Divine experience in a privileged location. We will vote as soon as we can. The kitchen is fully equipped and allows you to prepare several dishes. The room is equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, which is excellent for families.

Once again, this place failed customer service and did not help in any situation. We had upon our arrival and stay.

Be careful when you check in and make sure that you lock your door and use the metal piece. Otherwise the maintenance crew will come into your room while you’re sleeping and open the door, and the hotel will not take ownership.

Also at 9:30 at night the same day they were in the room in the morning while my friend was sleeping, they decided to start grinding metal on a door to a room that was not rented and continue to do so until 10:30 PM when we called the front desk and asked why they were doing work on the room. At which time we were told there was nobody there working on the room. Which gave us an uneasy feeling that somebody was trying to break into the room next-door. She assured me that security was on the way

45 minutes later and no security we called again and they said security was still on their way. Security shows up 10 minutes later to let us know that it was their service tech. Again, we ask why they were in a room that nobody was in this late at night it was not an emergency

We also explained to security that someone was in the room that morning, and we wanted to know who She told us that management will get a hold of us in the morning and let us know who was in our room

Nobody had an answer and nobody contacted us and let us know who was in the room

On our last day, my friend dropped her phone under the bed when she went under the bed to retrieve the phone phone she pulled out a personal hygienic toy for a male we reported this as well and nobody said anything

Positively disgusting since Hilton has taken over. They have ruined the name for Mystic dunes. Such a shame I actually like that place!

We turned this over to orbit to get them to understand that this was a horrible experience and orbits cannot get anything out of them as well

When they were not Hilton, it was a perfect resort. I loved going there. The rooms were nice and customer service was a thing. Now it’s every person for themselves and they don’t care about you or the room only if they get paid and they really don’t care about right or wrong

Good luck your forewarned don’t stay there !!!

I didnt use the pool, play golf, or eat here so this review is based on the room, and parking.

The location is 10 to 15 minutes near places to eat breakfast, and late night snacks etc which isnt too bad.

Once checking in we got harrassed to sign up for a 2 hr am tour of the resort in an attempt to sell us vacations which we later refused based on night one of our stay.

The room was on the third floor which was a short walk from the elevator. The room entrance door is heavy, slams hard, will keep you up all hours, and sadly will break a finger if your hand gets caught in it...no lie.

The room furniture was old, tvs had one remote, shower curtain had hair, and mold. Full kitchen which is a good thing but id never use it here. The bed was hard as a rock.

The internet........there is internet but its horrible. Two devices connected at once max. Thats if you can get on it. If your in need for service this is not the place!

Like to sleep past 8 am? Between the doors slamming, lawmowers etc..dont count on it.

Parking...well the is parking, yet its always full. Ive never been on vacation where i had to walk 2 blocks to get to my room since all the parking spots were taken. Cars without passes made me wonder if people had three cars each. Not a place to bring kids
, beach supplies, and have to walk far after a long day.

Overall this place sucked. The reviews are mixed, but you can 100% get a way better place to stay than this resort.

The staff isnt very helpful when you complain about internet service your told to call the provider yourself. Told to take a shuttle to your room since you can find parking. Just a mess!

Read other reviews regarding this place esp when your harrassed to attend the two hour tour bs. Ive read horror stories!

We will NEVER return to this mess.

Booked this place for a couples weekend. First room smelled so bad like turpentine. As soon as we got to room. Text number that they gave us was told housekeeping will be there to deodorize the room, after 3 hours text them back and told them we have dinner reservations and no where to take showers, they finally put us into another room. Beautiful 2 bedroom suite! The main pool with the tiki bar, full of kids be prepared, my husband had quadruple bypass and has on a monitor that has to stay with him at all times, we had a hard time keeping his monitor dry because of the unmonitored kids . Parents no where to be found. And then we had some mother literally talking to her 2 sons ,every other word was the F word.. place is cheap at $126.00 night..and that’s the clientele that’s going to be there believe me ! Honestly don’t think I would stay there again

We booked a three bedroom suite for a multigen family trip. It was insanely cheap so we were worried about the facilities but it was amazing!
The staff on both check in and check out were really helpful and friendly, giving us a late check out when our flights home got cancelled- much appreciated.

The 3 bed unit was huge and cute. We opened a front door to find two separate front doors - one to a one bed suite, the other to a larger two bed suite. Both had lounge, kitchen and dining area with the two bedder having two bathrooms and a screened terrace. Both had been refreshed with new furniture and a repaint but the original kitchen and bathroom units which were perfectly serviceable.

Ww loved the fridge, toaster and coffee maker for home breakfasts but also had a lovely breakfast one day in Kenzies

The resort is enormous- we were in building 32 and reception is found after the fifth stop sign !

We loved walking around the resort and the lagoon pool was gorgeous though curiously short of pool loungers despite having loads more room to put them in.

Only drawback for us was being ground floor with bedroom windows by the walkways so we heard every housekeeping trolley and returning car and guest at night , oh and the traffic on the 192 was consistently sticky (though as a plus it's really close to the Disney World entrance)

We would definitely return though. Tonnes of space, helpful staff and a quiet resort all at a low price is unbeatable . We've stayed at Marriott resorts double this price for no better facilities and we loved coming home to Mystic Dunes each night
