Thankgiving dinner was a delight! It was a day was warm enough to sit on the screened porch over a four course dinner. Just the right portions to enjoy but not overdo. The wait person timed our courses well so we could sip some wine and talk. The charm of the weathered hotel gave a comfortable ambiance. There are very...

A one horse town. We drove up to the front of this 'hotel', which looked a little dilapidated and almost turned straight around. We went in and were nicely surprised. The lobby/lounge area had a piano, huge leather sofas and an old world charm. Our room was along the same lines. Sloping floor, odd plumbing and a balcony outside we...

We stayed only for a night, driving from Jacksonville to Cedar Key to celebrate our 3rd Wedding anniversary (We had both lost our spouses several years ago). We had been married in Paris, and our hotel there on the left bank was simple, clean and not ostentatious. From the web site of Island Hotel on Cedar Key, and from its...

Stayed here with my family. Loved it as soon as I laid eyes on it. True old school Florida hotel knee deep in the middle of nowhere. Dad had stayed here before and took me to the bar and showed me holes in the walls where it had been shot. I guess back in the day it didn't have the...

My husband and I have just returned from this wonderful historic Inn! We were married in the courtyard of the hotel on August 30th, 2014. We had considered Puerto Rico, Key West, even Costa Rica. We chose The Island Hotel! This is a spot where time stands still, a place where the layers peel away, and you have to look...

Must see! In 1946 a young mother and her daughter painted the Murals for room and board. I just visited the hotel with the Daughter now in her 80's to see the murals that are still there and a part of Old Florida.

We stayed 2 nights for our anniversary weekend and had a great time. Our room was clean and comfortable (rm 34), breakfast was delicious (French toast!) and the Neptune Lounge was perfect for a night cap at the end of our day. Staying here has been on my bucket list since my first visit to Cedar Key 20 years ago,...

I stayed in a king room by myself and it was large with recently renovated bathroom. Breakfast is free and delicious. The staff is really nice and not hovering. This place is old but charming, so I wouldn't exchange for a newer hotel. Great location within walking distance from banks, shopping, and restaurants.

Stayed in the Island hotel in Cedar Key in July as part of our road trip around Florida because i had read a review of the place earlier in the year. I would certainly not recommend this place to anyone, it might be quaint but that's about it. Extremely poor hospitality, particularly the surly bar lady who found it a...

My wife and I just wanted to get away for a few days since she had just finished up with many weeks of radiation and chemo and was looking forward to a break. We had been to the hotel about 20 years before and really enjoyed it then so we were excited to return. Everything was perfect with one minor...
