We have dined at Cabbage Key twice this week, both dinners were scrumptious and we had great service each time. Thank you Rebecca and Katie! We love a sunset dinner cruise and Cabbage Key is a favorite.

We rented a boat to travel the intercoastal waterway and stopped at the Cabbage Key Restaurant having heard so much about this venue. The dockmaster, Joe, was exceptional giving us the same service as he gave the big 60 footers coming in. The restaurant lived up to the reviews with great food and wonderful atmosphere. Marcie was the person serving...

Cheeseburgers in paradise! Went for lunch on a day trip from Boca grand (quick 10-15 minute boat ride) for lunch and would definitely go back given the time. Good food, great service, great drinks. The dockmaster could be a little friendlier but I imagine he deals with a lot of nonsense from some of the rowdy boaters.

We had a late lunch there last week - after boating around the area throughout the day --- it was super easy to dock right there. The food was excellent - the cheeseburgers to the red beans and rice and mahi mahi! Our waitress, Rebecca, handled our large table - including 2 small kids - with ease. She was friendly,...

Had to have the "Cheeseburger in Paradise" when we were there on a Captiva Cruise ship. Excellent - and not at all tourist trap food. Enjoyed a walk around the trail and up the water tower. Really fun place!

My wife, brother-in-law and I sailed to Cabbage Key off Ft Myers, FL and out of Burnt Store Marina across Charlotte Harbor a week ago (April 26-27), with Cabbage Key as our destination. Our plan was to eat dinner there and stay all night in one of the ten cottages for rent on the cove before our sail back to...

We cruised out to Cabbage Key with Captiva Cruises, one of our favorites. (The captains are usually very chatty and funny). We were dropped off at Cabbage Key in time for lunch while our boat continued on to Useppa. We were seated promptly and admired all the dollar bills hanging from the walls. I ordered the shrimp salad which was...

Whenever we vacation on North Captiva Island, it's a tradition to go to Cabbage Key for a cheeseburger and key lime pie! What a great experience! This time was extra special because of our waitress, Cathy. She was great and so helpful! Not only did she tell us some of the history of Cabbage Key that we didn't already know,...

Lovely lunch with explorers on the fabulous Cabbage Key off Sanibel and Captiva. Refreshing margaritas and Bay Breezes hit the spot along with a great grilled "cheeseburger in paradise", Rueben, and Key Lime Pie. Take the time for an amazing boat trip to a unique park!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Cabbage Key is a 100 acre island located five miles off of Pine Island, FL in the Pine Island Sound. The Inn, built in the 1940's by the family of Mary Roberts Rinehart, now houses our famous Restaurant & Dollar Bill Bar and six guest rooms. The rooms in the Inn are all different with old Florida charm - they do not have TVs, phones, or refrigerators. We have seven cottages on the island, ranging from a 1 bedroom/1 bath cottage to 3 bedroom/3 bath waterfront units. All cottages have refrigerators, televisions (no cable) and coffee makers, some units have full kitchens. Our restaurant is open seven days a week and serves breakfast, lunch & dinner. If you want to relax on a beach...we do not have one here. But, Cayo Costa is a close kayak or boat ride away. This is a great retreat to discover "Old Florida", relax with a book, fish from our docks & watch the boats go by. ... more   less
