I came here with my parents and my dog and it was very relaxing. There's three beaches....honestly, sandspur go ahead and skip. Its on the Atlantic side so there's tons of rocks. The beach by the train bridge is fun. We snorkeled around there and saw a bunch of things including a baby reef shark! They're docile so no worries....

We camped in Sandspur on site #63. (Sandspur seems to be the best area.) It was very narrow and totally fenced in allowing no flexibility in setting up the site. Plus, we lost about 12 inches in the width due to the permanent placement of the posts for the clothesline. Know your site's dimensions before you go. Our neighbors could...

Gorgeous park. Had a site on the ocean side that was great. Bring a sleeping pad though because it's basically a little bit of sand over a very hard surface. It's not a soft sandy site. We couldn't see the beach because of the vegetation, but we could listen to the waves all night. Loved it!

Tent camping doesn't get any better than an oceanfront campsite at Bahia Honda State Park. You are steps from the ocean in a semi-secluded site. Some have electrical and water, some do not - check carefully when booking. We love the sites, with enough space for our screen room and 4 person tent, plus our vehicle. You have your own...

Clean, comfortable cabin which accommodated our of family of five easily. Our kids fished from the porch, we cooked burgers on the grill and ate outside at the picnic table. Lots of the natural world comes visiting: Louise the sea turtle, lots of Iguanas around the decks and rocks, huge variety of fish and birds, and lots of exploring to...

Nice park and beach. Clear water. We took the walking trail up to the old bridge. Very warm day in May. Overlooking the water was a nice treat. Found some shells. We were charged $9.00 to get in. There is a camp store that sells food/shirts/trinkets.

Difficult to get reservations right on the beach, but not impossible! Stayed there 2 weeks. There was an eastern wind of 5-10 the whole time, except the last 3 days. The winds caused murky water, lots of seaweed, and choppy conditions. The last 3 days we snorkeled right off the beach and into the rocky area. Perfect! Saw tons of...

We always visit Bahia Honda when we are in Key West. It's a great reminder of how the native area looked before all the development and we could sit on the narrow beach this time! They offer a nice snorkeling trip, too.
