I checked in, saw my room, and immediately looked for a new a hotel. The room seemed unclean and in disrepair. It absolutely reeked of cigarette and marijuana smoke. There was a loud party on one side and a loud fight on the other. This is your typical trashy cheap motel for college kids to party in.

My wife and I stayed recently, kind of a funny story. We originally had planned to stay just one night before driving down to the beach for our combination 20th anniversary living together, and after all these years, our Legal Marriage. (We have the Greatest Love Story of all Time, starting at a 13 and 14 y/o meet cute, 47-48 now). The staff was fun, helpful, and made us feel right at home. The rooms are clean, comfortable, & the WIFI is fast. The beds are that perfect mix of soft with support, and there was a huge pile of pillows We had such a nice time that night, between the wonderful hospitality of the kind, helpful, and good natured staff that we decided to stay another night. We thought, "hey, it's our honeymoon, what do we need the beach for? It's nice enough here". We are in total bliss. We had planned on a month long vacation in Lewes (we own a fairly successful small business, and my Wife has 4 years left of medical school to become a surgeon, we plan to spend our Autumn years as volunteers for Doctors Without Borders, Wife as Surgeon, and Husband as S.A. so we needed a little break). This went on for around a week, push back our beach reservation, add a night at the Wyndham. Our detour had brought us to an Orgastic state. [We thanked the Universe for guiding us to Wyndham Tallyville, "thank you for placing the obstacle ;-) " ] Well.....then some thing odd happened. To be fair, we do our own room cleaning because of Covid, and 25+ years ago my wife was hotel housekeeper. So we do understand that we may appear "Different". Short version. 1. My Wife asks Female Housekeeper for our daily towels. She is either out of towels or something, but in any event doesn't give us the towels. 2. My Wife asks a Male housekeeper for our daily towels. He ACCUSES HER OF LYING! Says she already had gotten them from other housekeeper and " Liar,! You want double towels!, " She runs up to the room 2.a my Wife does not lie .³, I am irate, I want to tell the front desk. "He called you a Liar???" "Over Towels???". She runs up to the room, gathers our towels and gives them to him. Not one extra. Also he would not let us use the vacuum, Covid we aren't vaccinated yet, we swept carefully instead that day. 2.b. Adenndum , this is in addition, I'm not positive, but I thought I heard him mumble "Sharmuta!",. We plan to volunteer in Somalia, the other Doc's are afraid. We have been trying to learn the languages and regional dialects, and I thought I heard a not very nice word. I'm not sure. Sharmuta means something like dirty woman. I dont know for sure if that is what I heard or not , I hope it was a misunderstanding. I didnt tell Wife what I heard, her heart was breaking over being called "liar " 3. I get call from front desk , "towels are stained". I reply, "almost certainly not Ma'am, maybe we cleaned up orange juice?. The Hostess tells me she will wait to see if the stains come out in wash. 4. We hear the male housekeeper talking about us both in clear English and muttering to himself in various dialects 5. As I write this review, which would have been ☆☆☆☆☆, I cant stop shaking. My Wife is so Kind she doesn't even want me to tell the front desk. I acquiesced. 6. This experience has made me sad. Yes, it was "only towels", that not the point. To be called a Liar to us is the meanest of insults. Besides this SINGLE flaw, the Wyndham Tallyville is an excellent hotel, we felt as if we were home. The staff works hard to make you feel safe in these uncertain times, A more positive anecdote, I had accidentally booked a reservation for the same day instead of extending our stay by 1 day, and the Front Desk Manager sweetly comped us another night. When the Male Housekeeper brought her the towels I can only guess what she must have thought. (Also that is a vector). Synopsis, if you only care about a clean room in a safe neighborhood, then the Wyndham Tallyville will suit your needs. Sincerely, John A. A. C.

My room was very clean, comfortable, updated and big, w tons of 'bathroom counter' space, w super comfy bed. However, the exterior of this building is in dire need of a good bath or power wash and a paint job and a total refresh. This is an old property, I remember it as the Talleyville Inn from the late 1960's !!! Super convenient location near restaurants and shopping, but be aware it is RIGHT ON NOISY ROUTE 202 so ask for a room AT THE BACK away from the traffic noise. Two story building. NO ELEVATOR, just external stairs. Price was so good I would stay there again despite its grungey exterior.

Its been awhile since I've stayed; needed time to myself for a moment. However I can say did not expect the improvements to the front lobby, NICE. Staff as usual is GREAT! Room was cleaner than my previous stay, update the bathroom and this hotel will be my 'Go To' anytime I need some ME TIME.

Ive stayed here a few times. Great quality for the price. Very comfortable and clean rooms. Lots of pillows. Refrigerator and microwave. Will stay again and highly recommend this hotel. It's not the Hilton but probably better bargain
