We went here right before Labor Day Weekend, and it was great. Pretty quiet, a short walk to the bathhouse which has showers and is clean. We were at campsite 74, at the very back of the campground. There wasn't a whole lot of privacy, but the ground was flat, and it was very easy to pitch our tents. There...

The pluses: We camped in a tent-only site. The site was really nice - lots of space and not too close to the neighbors. However, the sites in the center of roads look much more cramped so be warned. There was a breeze and it was an easy walk to the nearby beach - though a little far if you...

This year, as for the past 5 years, we've stayed at Cape Henlopen State Park Campground for two weeks during our summer vacations. Since they built the new restrooms, the quality of our stay diminished. We often had to wait for people to finish showering to be able to just pee. That concept of merged bathroom and shower is the...

Only a few sites have some privacy, which was not our case and sites’ borders are not always clear. Nonetheless, our four nights stay was great with respectful neighbours. There is some shade on most sites, so your tent will not be in the sun all day. Showers are free and really clean (though incredibly hot, like the bathrooms, during...

We stayed for 3 nights in our travel trailer with 4 kids. No doubt I missed having A/C because of no electrical hook up, but the park has so much to offer, it was worth it. Despite the hot weather, there was relief at the ocean, fishing pier, bay and in the shade. The bath houses offered more privacy than...

My extended family and I camped here recently and there were some positives. The beach was a short walk/bike ride away. There is a nice trail for biking, and we enjoyed some adventures booked through the nature center. On a bad note, the showers were very dirty. They do clean them every morning, but the drainage system was not good,...

We have a small travel trailer and I reserved a site that looked shaded and private. It would have been, but you have to park your camper on the road, so you're sleeping feet away from whoever is walking, driving, cussing at their loud kids, blowing up an air mattress at 1:30am. Yeah, I realize we got lucky with our...

We have been tent camping here for the past several years. Have always enjoyed the location, however, things will soon be changing and it appears those who utilize tents will be the losers. We were informed many of the current tent sites will be turned into RV-only sites, trees will be removed, and many of the tent sites will be...

This campground is situated in a state park that has a public beach. The campsites are less than a mile from beach access. We have camped here frequently. Definitely try to reserve a site that has some shade for the inevitable hot summer afternoons. There are also designated sites for RVs. Overall, there are more tent sites, but based on...

Cape Henlopen State Park 15099, Cape Henlopen Dr, Lewes, DE 19958 ★ Had a nice experience as the park is great and decided to purchase an annual pass. I went to Park Office but had a 7 pound lapdog with me. It was a very hot day and I didn't want to leave her in car so I held her...
