Had two dinners here whilst we were staying close by and they were lovely. Home made chips were very good and food arrived quickly. Staff were very caring and will definitely visit again! Even when the pub was busy we still got served in good time

We visited for lunch on a cold wet day. The fire was roaring and plenty of choice on the menu. The meals were all very nice and the pub's own beers kept some of our party very happy with take outs purchased as well. Love that dogs are very welcome here. A great country pub

Last time we visited it was closed after the flooding in the area. Now re-opened and well refurbished. Lovely slate floor in one bar and dining area - this is the dog friendly area. The other room is carpeted , so dogs not allowed. Good menu available - lots of beers to choose from, at very reasonable prices, and the...

We arrived at lunchtime. Tables can't be booked so we ordered drinks and hovered about waiting for a table to clear. There were 6 of us so we weren't optimistic. There are two rooms so it was tricky to find a table big enough. A table became vacant after a while. We ordered our food at the bar, placing our...

My wife and I stopped at the Watermill whilst on a short break in the lakes; a few thoughts... Location: A nice village location but not too far of the beaten track, you get the whole open fire thing etc and its popular with walkers and locals alike. Rooms: This wasn't our first stay at the Watermill but the place...

Enjoyed a nice night away here but it could have been so much better. Firstly the room was comfortable and clean and was everything you would want it to be. The beer is brewed on site and is to be kind...ok as is the bar area and dinning room. We had our evening meal here where we had the hummous...

We were looking for somewhere near Kendal which was dog friendly. So we went to the Watermill which was a 10 minute drive from Kendal. When we arrived we found a table easily in the bar as it was very quiet, the woman behind the bar gave the dog a number of biscuits. We sat near the fire as it...

Travelled to the Lakes in October and had a very enjoyable couple of days in the MacDonald Old English Hotel and Spa. On our way home we called in to the Windmill Inn and decided we would book a 2 nights for the following month. We paid 50% deposit. The following week we changed the booking to just the Saturday...

Having spoken to you, followed this matter from day one you have rung up quiet a lot and read your review, I am quiet happy to support our Staff 100% on this booking. Having only 8 bedrooms we can not afford to let someone hold a room for a month then cancel with a few days to arrival leaving us...

Having found the Watermill a little disappointing on our last visit we decided to give it another go. I am so glad we did. The food was back to its previously high standards. The game casserole topped with dauphinoise potatoes was particularly good, and the beef any collywobbles (their own beer!) pie also excellent. They look after your dog too...
