Hotel's Favourite
Pretty grounds with the hotel situated on a hillside overlooking a river with lush jungle. The views are beautiful, especially from Naga bar on the 7th floor during the sunsets with many kites along the horizon. The hotel has many Balinese arts and sculptures that give the vibe of their beautiful culture. The staff are all very well trained and genuinely care about their guests; all of them from housekeeping to the front desk were all pleasant and helpful. That being said there are some notable exceptions who deserve mentioning: Lasta, the General Manager is a pro: while busy managing two properties he makes himself available and listens to any feedback with grace. I never had an issue but I did speak with him for some length. Front Desk: Ms Agung is a lifesaver. She assisted me with everything from concierge services to arranging for postage to have my passport sent to the Embassy in Jakarta for renewal (she even called to double check my documents were in order and found that my photo had the incorrect shade of white in the background). Always cheerful and high vibration, Marriott is lucky to have her. Naga Bar: Maha the bartender is gentle and knowledgeable about Bali nightlife, he cares about doing a great job. Walking up the stairs I observed him practicing throwing and catching bottles when the bar was empty. A pro. Rian - waiter and total gentleman; I enjoyed dealing with him when he was working Ground floor restaurant: It should be noted the breakfast has a lot of variety of tasty foods, fruits, healthy juices, teas and coffees. Every morning I was greeted by the staff who would seat my at my preferred area (outside) and take my drink order while being seated: they made me individually ordered juices that were not specifically on the menu (including a healthy Balinese drink with turmeric) Karsana the waiter was usually there always asking how I was and if he could get me something (ask for a Nola bowl) Widura the manager, also a pro runs the place so well, I really looked forward to starting my day there. Finally there was Tantra, the IT specialist who helped me print some documents and insured wifi was working great. All around cool person. I highly recommend staying here even for a short time however I was there almost two weeks! Suksema everyone 🙏🏻

I spent 5 days here in Ubud and the hotel was absolutely amazing. It has beautiful surroundings and the hotel itself is beautiful too. The staff go above and beyond to help with anything you need and offer anything extra. They are very friendly and kind. The hotel puts on some free activities such as making crafts or the local offerings, which was really interesting to learn about. The food and bar are very nice and reasonably priced, and the breakfast selection is fantastic with a wide selection of both western and non-western food, with additional food available on request. There is a shuttle into Ubud which takes about 30 mins or less depending on traffic. The entire stay is very reasonably priced for such a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend staying here. I would love to return in the future. -Anna

We have a very amazing experience at this resort.it is more than a hotel it is a true paradise. The staffs are amazing and friendly. They are so proactive and attentives. The facilities are so clean and we are so confident with this place. The food at sungai restaurant is amazing. The chef Arya and Mr. Adi the manager personally talk to us to ensure all is meeting our expectation. In deed the dining ambience is very cozy with the sound of river and fresh air. We dont want to leave as the resort is so amazing. The resort also having 2 clean swimming pools as option for us to relax. We will certainly be back.

We stayed here for 3 nights. Luckily, the travel restrictions were relaxed by Indonesian government and we were allowed to roam freely. This hotel is located in the middle of Ubud and is 10-15 min drive from Ubud market. The check in was pretty quick and we got a nice upgrade to Suite room with amazing view of river and pool. Special thanks to AdiPutra who personally made sure that we had the best experience in hotel. He personally walked us to the room, explained all the facilities. We enjoyed the hotel spa services and it was pretty relaxing. Breakfast spread is amazing and the chef can cook something for you if you are not satisfied with the available options. Thank you for making amazing avocado sandwiches for my wife. She loved it. The hotel offers shuttle service to Ubud city and it is complimentary. This hotel also organizes some recreational activity everyday. We participated in the cycling tour of Ubud. The guide took us through the villages and showed us village temple, traditional architecture and rice fields. He even clicked some pictures for us. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff is exceptionally polite and courteous. Highly Recommended.

First time in Indonesia since 2019. Have not seen family since the pandemic. We used this trip to reconnect and to look at future property. Sthala was great. Sitting in a nice location that is a motorbike or car ride away. Staff is very friendly and courteous. Always willing to provide assistance. The property is cleaned and well maintained and provides transportation to Ubud center. The bar overlooks the grounds and the restaurant is there to serve a large assortment of breakfast and dinner choices. Definitely the place to go for peace and quiet!

Close to Ubud with free shuttle, tucked away into serene jungle area. Breakfast area overlooks a small stream and bridge. Staff service and attentiveness was top tier; rooms and grounds were decently well maintained but not the most spacious or modern. Overall a fantastic stay and would come back again if in Ubud.

It was our first time in Bali and we started in Beautiful Ubud. Glad we did as we instantly felt the Beautiful, relaxed, warm welcome I've read so much about online. We organised an airport transfer through the hotel and were met at the airport by the Sthala driver. Our experience started with the Beautiful luxury vehicle arranged by the resort. It was about an hour from the airport and quite late when we arrived however we were welcomed enthusiastically and warmly by the reception team. Prithi and Twentu made us feel so at home and that they were happy to have us there- and all the staff continued that throughout our stay. Special shout out to Adhi in the rooftop bar- he was great! The rooms were beautiful! Generously spaced, wonderul amenities, great view over the terraced grounds and river. The bed was incredibly comfortable- we had a full itinerary so didn't get much sleep the first 2 nights- but 4 hours of sleep felt like 10! They were that good! The food was fantastic and very reasonably priced for in-house dining (around $11-12 AUD a meal) . The rooftop bar was a standout- watching sunset over the forest and giant kites being flown high across the skyline was so incredibly relaxing! The kite flying happens due to seasonal winds in the area around june to august i was told. Happy hour there was terrific value for money with the cocktail inclusions featuring the Balinese local spirit Arak- really enjoyed it! The spa was stunning! We had a package that included massages, but we spent the extra for a treatment scrub- the prices were incredible. Even though youre within a resort and many will tell you to look outside hotels for spa treatments in Bali, I found the prices to be less than a third of what you would pay in Australia and top notch quality. Can't reccomend this highly enough- especially if you go straight to Ubud from an international flight. Would highly reccomend the Sthala for a beautiful relaxed Ubud stay- it is a little bit outside of the centre, but if you have a driver or ask the hotel to arrange transport for you, you're about 10 mins away. Its a fabulous place to stay!

good room, good breakfast. It's located a little bit outside of the centre, you need a taxi to reach anywhere. Staff super, really kind and helpful. Bar on the rooftop bad quality, the worste mojito of the last 5 years.
