I spent 2 days a week here for the past 10 weeks. Kevin, the manager, got to recognize me and always greeted me when he saw me (as did other staff members). The rooms were clean and functional (mini-fridge and microwave in each room), coffee was always available in the lobby and refreshed regularly (I never had lukewarm coffee). I was there for hour-long appointments at a nearby medical facility, so spent a lot of time in the hotel. It never felt cold or unwelcoming. I would recommend an even-numbered room, as the odd-numbered rooms face Rte 72, which is fairly busy all day and night. If you do wind up on the odd side, there are two climate control types - one of which has a "fan-always-on" option (427 is one such). If the wall thermostat is working, you got one of those. Otherwise, pack earplugs if you're a light sleeper and on the odd side of the building. Breakfast was an unexpected treat. In this age of COVID I expected some packaged cold offerings (granola bars, muffins, etc.) but was amazed to find scrambled eggs every day, and depending on the day, either bacon and turkey sausage or both pork and turkey sausage. Plus bagels, muffins, and on my last few days, wrapped bacon and egg muffins (to be microwaved, and there is one in the breakfast area), Also juices ,hardboiled eggs, and yogurts. Breakfast offered for 3 hours each day, so the area was never crowded. There is also an on-site restaurant, though it's not associated with the hotel, which offers a "never-leave-the-premises" dining option. I will stay here again if I need to be in the area (I live about 120 miles away, so this is not a weekend getaway option). I would have made this 5-star if the hotel managed to honor my room preference more times than 3 in the 10 weeks I was there.…
We stayed one night at this hotel as it was halfway along our four hour drive. We arrived at 10pm and we had the most wonderful greeting by Madeline, who was the front desk concierge. It is worth staying at this hotel just to spend ten minutes with Madeline. While we stay at numerous hotels each year...no employee has a better attitude than Madeline! The room was also well appointed and large. Go Madeline Go!!
My first business trip since the pandemic began. Was immediately thanked for being a Platinum Bonvoy member which doesn't always happen. Very friendly and engaging staff. Room was clean and sanitized each day which put me at ease. Room was to be expected of Marriott standards. Bathroom was great. Well stocked with towels etc... and a shower that actually had pressure that didn't change every two seconds and didn't run out of hot water. Had no problem getting a wake-up call from the front desk each morning as a backup to the alarm on my cell phone. Location is close to every place I needed to be for work and there are plenty of restaurants close by for lunch and dinner. Mall is a short drive away as well. Marriott should be proud of this Covid-19 compliant hotel! Parking lot could have better lighting.…
Quick overnight during the holidays and we couldn't have asked for anything better for the price and location. We were greeted and treated so nicely. Lobby was clean and spacious. We were looking forward to relaxing in the indoor pool that night but was told it closes at 4pm due to covid restrictions. Breakfast is grab and go which suited us fine. One or two little hiccups were quickly addressed and the staff could not be more accommodating. Rooms were clean, sanitized and comfortable. Close to everything we needed and look forward to staying here again when visiting the area in the near future.
At check in tje front desk staff was excellent-roughly 445pm on a Wednesday; clean crisp room, staff friendly and attentive. Location is off the beaten path but quick to Interstate. A number of chain eateries and even a grocery store within 1 to 15 minute walk. Pride pays off for this property. PS, I had about 90 "room nights" in 2019. I know good from bad.
My son just moved to Planville so I thought this would be the perfect place to stay. The heater fan in the room sounded like a tornado every time it came on all night long. I called the front desk and they said maintenance wouldn't be in until the morning. I didnt sleep a wink. I said something again at check out and all I was told was "I'm sorry". Will be visiting Planville several times but will not be staying here again .
Stayed for 1 night. Service was great and room spacious plus clean. Waxy O’Connor’s attached provided a pool table and dartboards plus excellent wings for a relaxing night. Morning breakfast was also good. Overall, terrific stay!
Great reception. Large suite with separate double bed bedroom with door for privacy from living room area that had sleeper couch. My sister, my adult son and I had all the privacy we needed in a clean comfortable suite
I found this hotel to be a wonderful surprise. From the genuinely kind greeting at check in to the spacious and newly renovated rooms I am impressed. Staff is wonderful. Nancy who works so hard to get hot food out at breakfast deserves cudos as well. The well trained and professional staff at Fairfield Inn deserves recognition.
Plenty of parking. Pleasant reception experience. Small business lounge area - computer, internet, printer. Only 1 elevator, but it wasn't very busy so OK. Room was spacious and clean, good desk area, large bathroom. Breakfast was basic but sufficient. Free newspaper and TV news was on. Connected to Irish pub with plenty of seating, large bar, not just 'bar' food. Thursday night had a live band.
