Went for an anniversary dinner. Was not disappointed at all. I had the beef goulash /stroganoff. Best i had in along time. My husband had the trio of veal, pork and beef. He said his was delicious. Waitress served a hash brown brown potato in a skillet tableside. That was a nice addition. I have never seen cooked carrots slices... More

My husband and I were looking for a nice get-away weekend in NW Ct. The description of the Inn sounded perfect. But we found out the website description of the room we booked was misleading! Website Description: " The Lakeview studio is also located in a separate building and offers magnificent views of the lake. The room has a queen... More

My husband and I (50's+) just came back from a really lovely stay at The Hopkins Inn on Lake Waramaug in Litchfield County CT. The Inn is charming. It is very old, with narrow winding hallways. The staff are all warm, welcoming, friendly, efficient, and good at their jobs. The room we had on the 3rd floor was adorable. The... More

We did not stay here. We drove here for lunch. Beautiful views, overlooking the Lake. The lunch menu was quite large. Chicken cordon blue, escargot veal dishes. And a full desert list of local dishes, Apple strudel and other seasonal dishes

This place was on a hill overlooking Lake Waramaug. If you stay here, you can use their private little beach like we did. Very busy place, busy staff, lots of weddings here and busy restaurant. The room we had was perfect. Large comfy bed, tv, dvd, private bathroom, views of the surroundings and was very clean. I would stay here... More

I haven't had the chance to stay here yet, but we had lunch here Oct. 2015. I give this place a 4 out of 5 for location. The food is pricey, but everything my husband and I had for lunch and dessert was good enough I guess. I know it's sad for some people to cut down trees, but the... More

I visited for the second time to have brunch with friends. We had to arrive before 10 am for breakfast. There was a wedding party occupying one room with a nice view. They offered us a dark room and table. This is a very nicely situated restaurant with beautiful lakeviews and outdoor dining if you are lucky to get i.... More

We visited the Hopkins Inn for Father's Day and as usual had a very nice dinner. The location is very special..sitting atop a hilltop overlooking the lake. The outside patio is the place to be. A huge chestnut tree shades the patio. The menu is not extensive but we have yet to find something we did not enjoy. The service... More

We've been experiencing the Inn, and continue to do so, for over 45 years. We would highly recommend Hopkins Inn as a venue for dining, special occasions/functions, and overnight accommodations. The lunch and dinner cuisine is typically a traditional blend of individual Swiss and Austrian fare, with weekly specials, in addition to a few familiar steak and seafood offerings. The... More
