As I pulled up into the Mermaid Inn I instantly felt delighted! The wrap around porches and grand gazebo were very welcoming and relaxing. Upon entering the Mermaid Inn I could smell fresh apple pie baking and there were these amazing homemade chocolate chip oatmeal cookies!! It's wonderfully located in town and I was able to sight see, go dining,...

We have been to Mermaid Inn twice and each visit was lovely. Our son lives and works in Mystic. The house is convenient to the water front and walking distance to the main part of town and the Seaport. Josephine makes a lovely breakfast with many delicious options to chose from. There is always coffee and tea available and she...

Our friends come here every year and now so will we. This Bed and Breakfast is a big, old-fashioned house with a gazebo overlooking the flower gardens. We sat on the gazebo and had a leisurely breakfast: I had delicious French toast, homemade yogurt, homemade granola and perfectly-cooked bacon. My husband got something else and declared it to be "the...

I have travelled to several B&Bs and my husband and I have enjoyed experiencing various B&Bs in our travels. In comparison to the others, I have to admit I was disappointed. I don't drink alcohol, but I suppose if I did, I would rate this with 5 stars as they keep a free supply of cognac for the guests, and...

We decided to go yo Mystic for a quick getaway and booked one night at the Mermaid Inn. The location was within walking distance to the little downtown area and the Seaport Museum. The room was very comfortable and spotless. My husband couldn't get enough of the chocolate chip cookies that were left out for us to snack on and...

In celebration of my husband's birthday, we spent an overnight at the Mermaid Inn. Mystic was a convenient location as we travelled from our home in Boston, and were to travel to Long Island the next day (taking the ferry from nearby New London) to visit family. The Inn was quiet and cozy. Homemade treats and gluten free cookies were...

We stayed at the Mermaid Inn for 3 nights in October, and loved it. Our room had been tastefully renovated, complete with quirky mermaid mural in the bathroom, and was spotlessly clean. Josephine has pie and cookies waiting when you arrive, and gives you a goodie bag when you leave, which was much appreciated. Her breakfasts were delicious. The inn...

My boyfriend, Don, and I came to Mystic for a mid-week vacation. I love anything to do with the ocean so the name Mermaid Inn of Mystic intrigued me. Once we got there I was blown away by the beauty of the Inn and the kindness of Josephine. Breakfast our first morning was the best I have had. The granola...

Such a special place. From the warm cookies and pie to welcome us,to the lovely breakfast at our leisure in the morning and our reluctant goodbye in the afternoon our stay at the Mermaid Inn was wonderful. Jo was the perfect host. Her quiet sweet nature was refreshing and accommodating. Her home was beautiful and comfortable. Our room was quiet,...
