While the hotel is very nice and staff very friendly... The price reflects a full service hotel but only half the services were available. The Armory (the on-site restaurant) played a big role in my decision to stay there and it was closed... and not having any on-site breakfast option made breakfast not an option for a business person on a tight schedule. And, the nonoptional $20 facility fee is BS. I didn't use any of the facilities and was still required to pay. I will be looking for other options in the future. By the way, if the USA flag is up at night it must be illuminated, it was not. And, no other flag shall fly higher than the US flag on US soil. During my stay the USA flag was at half mast, while the adjacent flag was all the way up. To a veteran on Memorial day that was very disrespectful. …
In all the wedding madness leading up to our stay the hotel was incredibly accommodating and gorgeous. It’s location is also unbeatable. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a hotel block in this great wedding venue town.
We had a tragic death in the family and I came up to Middletown to break the news to our daugther who is at Wesleyan. I walked in last minute and explained the situation and everyone couldn't have been kinder and more helpful. I don't remember the name of the gentleman who checked me in Wednesday evening 5/4 nor the lovey woman who cleaned our room when we checked out on 5/5 and offered her condolences and gave us space as we were struggling to think of our next move. Steve was at front desk that morning and couldn't have been kinder, too. My deep appreciation to all of you..and the rooms couldn't have been more comfortable and clean.
Spent a night here for a group function. The front desk staff was wonderful and accommodating. The facility was spotless and the room was beautiful. The air conditioning cycle is a little loud if you are a light sleeper, but it did not bother me. We had breakfast in the tavern and it was delicious. There was a nice selection of items on the menu.
Very hospitable, welcoming, clean and very comfortable. Perfect location for food, entertainment, and visiting Wesleyan University. This will be my first place to stay when visiting Middletown in the future.
Loved the staff, so friendly (Brian, Beck and Allie in the bar/restaurant) and especially Steve at the front desk. They are kind and accommodating despite all the stress of wedding parties. Rooms are perfect on every floor and so many great places within walking distance.
My daughter and her husband had reserved a block of rooms here for their wedding at the Pavillion at Crystal Lake. The front staff was so helpful and friendly every step of the way. The rooms were clean and beautiful and I loved how green the hotel tries to be. We had a breakfast for wedding guests the next day which was phenomenal! Some of us met up at the bar the night of the wedding. The lead bartender was training a new staff member and seemed a little grumpy to have late night customers, but service was fine. My suggestion to guests is bring bottled water or beverages for your fridge in your room. They do sell drinks at the front desk, but I tend to drink lots of water throughout my day. I would definitely recommend this venue without hesitation.
Very comfortable, nice linens. Parking is confusing but only involves a short walk. perfect location to walk into town and have a meal. breakfast is not included but there restaurant has food and there are so many places just a few short blocks away.
It's a really nice hotel, with very friendly accommodating staff. It's expensive though, with nothing super special about the rooms or service above and beyond what you might pay for a decent chain. I paid $500 for two nights during the off-season on a Thursday and Friday (not even truly the weekend), and that didn't include valet. I was also peeved by a $40 service fee that went toward very standard hotel features (internet/mediocre AM coffee) and features that most people don't actually use (pool/fitness area). We were there for a wedding, and the whole experience felt very gouge-y. Would absolutely find better value elsewhere in the future.
This was the hotel my husband and I stayed at for our wedding weekend. It was recommenced by our wedding venue and I felt it would look good for photos/videos while my husband would get ready. Overall it was a nice stay and I really liked the location because it was close to other nearby businesses. Friday and Saturday night we were able to hangout at the bar, but on our wedding night (Sunday) it was closed out for a very small super bowl party. I kind of wish a heads up could have been given, but things happen for a reason. Before I could get upset about it the situation one of my guests reach out to La Boca's Mexican Restaurant & Cantina down the street to see if they could accommodate for us. They were happy to receive us and to our surprise it was karaoke night!! (One of my favorite things to do!) Everything ended on a magical note!~…
