Room stinks like cigarettes. No shower curtain in the Bathroom and caulk on the side of the tub looks moldy. The mattress is lumpy the pillows had no fill, and only two in bed.Very uncomfortable. Beds were clean, ac was not loud . Person in front dead was nice. In the other hand cheap compared to other hotels around. You get what you play for.
My husband, teen aged son and I were traveling up the East Coast and needed a hotel for 1 night near Wesleyan University for a Thursday College Tour. No only did this hotel serve our purposes well they went above and beyond to assist us both before we arrived AND after we left. First, before we arrived, we realized my husband had a 4 hour zoom meeting for work after we checked out [from Noon-4] and while my son and I were on the college tour. The University would not allow him to be in their buildings due to COVID, but I contacted the hotel and Brandi offered a quiet corner in the lobby for him even though we would have been checked out already. The day of everything worked perfectly for him. He was able to attend his meeting, the wifi was excellent, and the staff was friendly and accommodating to him all day. Then 2 days later as we were further north, we realized he had left behind a favorite pair of sneakers and a shirt in the closet. I called and Joesph went and looked for the items. Housekeeping had put them aside. We then worked with Brandi to organize a UPS pick up to return the items to our home in IL. Brandi was phenomenal. The hotel was VERY busy on the Friday when we called her but she made sure to help us. She found a box, we scheduled a pick up for Monday and we received it on Wednesday. The hotel was clean and comfortable for our stay but it was the customer service, especially by Brandi, makes this one of the best places we have stayed.…
I have stayed seasonal short visits since 2013.Hotel is on a quiet street.A nice park is down about a mile.Close to highways.Close to restaurants.Close to The Edge Fitness Clubs. The LG window units always cooled room well. They were housing vulnerable populations(shelters)last Summer 2020 due to covid so I could not get room on 2nd floor facing parking lot end of hall like I usually wanted but they are not there now.Place has always been quiet and clean.Staff has always been helpful Brandy is a great manager.Shawn great in maintenance..Iris runs housekeeping very well.Mr.Patel always welcoming. This was a Hampton Inn til a few years ago so has higher end decor than a regular Red Roof Inn(accent lighting over desk, etc)nice window shades, etc.
I'm on my 6th day of a 7 day stay. The only time my room was made up was after the first night. No towels, no bed made up and no waste basket emptied 4 nights in a row. Front desk was apologetic and polite every time I let them know but give me a break. Hotel is clean and quiet.
I stayed for a long weekend. When you first come into the property you see a cemetery in the adjacent lot. I thought perfect neighbors, my family had other thoughts. Lol. On a serious note. If you are concerned with social distance / face covering.Dont stay. Despite all the signs, guest do not adhere to the mask policy in public area. Everyday we get in the elevator it smells of marijuana. Finally my family insist I write this in the review because they wish they would have know. With the virus many shelters needed to find housing for people due to social distancing and the lack of space. Many shelters used community centers, Churches and hotels. I commend Red Roof Inn of Meriden for opening their doors to a community group that was in need. Let the choice be with you.
This hotel was built very well 30 years ago.I was built with great wood decor in the room and even has accent lights over the cabinets. You will never hear any noise above or on the side of your room. The place is always quiet. The manager Mr.Patel makes sure everything is in order.I like Guiffreda Park just about 2 miles down Bee St.What a gem.A lake snd walking trails.Dogs welcome. There is even a house there you can sit on front porch no one bothers you.Meeiden is a nice town with good people. The Edge Fitness Club(BEST GYM EVER) put a gym there that is proof a good area. They are in 7 states already.1-91 and parkways down the street from hotel.Hotel has very rare LG window units that blast cold air.I have visited seasonally for short visits since 2013.Always clean rooms.
My booking was made at the this hotel instead of a hotel 51 miles away further south. When I told Eli the front desk manager he said no problem!! GREAT customer service , very friendly and willing to help. He said “I’ll cancel it “ & spoke to the GM . . But orbitz has failed to respond to their massive screwup of booking the wrong hotel. The general manager has also been responsive and tried refunding but orbitz system sucks and is still not working 72 hours later and all their phone lines are busy . Hotel was clean , rooms were spotless .
Red roof in meriden is defiantely a very good value for the rate that i was charged, plus they were running a promotion to the end of febuary stay 2 nights get a free night. Room was clean and staff was very nice and accomidating, especially the manager brandi any issues were addressed swiftly, she also was very helpful with answering questions with places to eat, shopping ect..ect..( no breakfast, and microwave and fridge in some rooms) Check in and check out was a breeze, and its a pet friendly hotel as well which was a definate plus. The experience was good enough if i travel to the area again will be staying at the red roof meriden.
They are a no smoking hotel, which is great, but they allow everyone to smoke right in front of the main entrance so it stank and was littered with cigarette butts. Our room key never worked once. Every time, we had to go down and the get the front desk person to let us in. After the second time, she acted like we were idiots unable to use the key and made up a little ditty of "swish, swish, boom" on how to use the key and open the door. My husband and I travel often (and he used to work at the front desk of a hotel), we know how to use a key card - the battery needed to be re-charged on the door lock. The bedding and towels were rough, the TV remote did not work, and the WiFi was crappy. Will not be staying in a Red Roof Inn again.
I was extremely pleased with this Red Roof Inn, I've stayed at many locations and this is by far my favorite. The rooms are very nice and clean, with comfy beds. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, Sharon, at the front desk, went above and beyond to make sure my room was perfect for me. Not only did she accommodate me, but as I'm staying for business reasons, she even went above and beyond to meet those needs as well. Would stay here again.
