We stayed here for 2 nights as this was the hotel associated with an event we were attending in the area. The property was attractive and clean. Our room was clean with comfortable beds and pillows. The fridge was not turned on when we arrived, so the inside was sopping wet. We mopped it out with a towel then plugged it in,...it continued to drip inside. We were promised a new one, but did not get it. My biggest complaint was the wifi.....it was horrible! The wifi was not as bad during the day, but in the evening, I could not stay connected for more than a few minutes at a time. The desk staff (Eric and Amy) were very nice, and tried to help, but the wifi signal for the hotel is just junk! There was a hot breakfast, of which the little warm cinnamon buns were the best. One morning we had to wait for regular coffee to be made and the trash always seemed to be full and overflowing. We had trouble getting towels to replace the ones we used to sop up the fridge. Overall, this place was pretty good. With a few small changes, it could be a lot better.…
Split personality hotel There’s surely a good angel & a bad angel struggling in the employee’ lounge. On the evil side, Room 336 should be retired & buried. It was my worst hotel room in recent history: -Dim lights -“Knock-knock housekeeping!” when “Do Not Disturb” sign up -Early 11AM Checkout -Freezer smelled of rotten meat & was unplugged -Noisy HVAC sounded like a cement mixer -Air struggled to cool, & never won the battle -Curtains cover air flow. I had to strategically placed flip-flops to help the above mentioned struggling air conditioning -Ironing board collapsed -Microwave: missing glass turntable, smells like burning wires. (Did you ever try to balance a cup on those three spokes?) My tea tasted like burnt electronics & I had to discard it The hotel get 3 stars instead if 1 because: -Best free breakfast selection ever! Every possible healthy (and unhealthy) choice -Huge trays provided so you can take the breakfast up to bed.…
Recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Meriden, 2104 N. Broad Street Meriden, CT 6450 US Always a great place to stay while in the Hartford Connecticut area. The service from Nicholas Gosselin, General Manager and especially Parnell Richardson was exceptional. Would strongly recommend this hotel for the rooms, pricing and comfort. Also outstanding breakfast selection each and every day
We booked this with friends. We needed two rooms for the 4 of us. The property is isolated from most conveniences. A 15 minute drive can get you most places. The room we were in had a strange smell, like tobacco and cinnamon. The A/C unit made such a terrible noise and was not efficient. The bathroom was ok, but the tub was obviously one of those cheap overlay ones because it made a terrible creaking noise when stepped into. The shower head had such pathetic water pressure. I could see all the limescale build up on it. The good points were mostly friendly staff, parking availability and the to go breakfast options. While the hot breakfast was adequate it was nothing to write home about. This property really needs some refurbishments.
We booked this room for a week. It was NEVER cleaned. We took out our own trash on 2 occasions, only received clean towels by going to the front desk. There was a Keurig but no coffee , we ran out of toilet paper and conditioner- but when no one cleans your room, how would anyone know? Between my husband and I we made 4 trips to the front desk and were told on one occasion that “when the hotel is full we don’t have enough towels to go around! “Notes for the housekeeping staff and manager were left by the two women who covered some nights- they were embarrassed but little they could do except report and clearly we got no response. While when we checked in everything was clean and the room was very nice that ended our positive experience. A shame really- we regularly travel to CT and would love to find a “go to” place to stay. This was not it.…
I usually stay pretty frequent for business and leave during the day for meetings and can sometimes hear the GM talk smack about his own employees to his own guests and bragging about “getting rid of them finally” what kind of man says that? I only had a couple of interactions with him just to know the kind of person he is. Used to see a girl run around at night getting things done and have actually heard her crying in the back a couple times when I go to get snacks from the vending machines at night. I always see her and it worries me. I’ve stayed at other hotels and they’re pretty well staffed except for this one. My business in the area is almost over so hopefully I can stay clear from this place and let my company know to send me over to the Holiday Inn Express in Newington when I’m in the area again.…
I’ve been an IHG member for two years. My husband and I stayed here using points to take a breather on an 8 hour drive from the Jersey Shore to our home. I should have known something would go wrong when we tried to check in - there was a couple in front of us telling the clerk their TV didn’t work. She didn’t believe them EVEN AFTER THEY SHOWED HER A PICTURE. Our room was nice - sizable and clean. Room was quiet. We went to check out in the morning. My husband went to the lobby to grab breakfast while I got dressed. He said in 10 minutes, all he heard were complaints - rooms that smell like drugs, broken furniture, dirty sheets, etc. We checked out and went to our vehicle to find that it was broken into on Holiday Inn property with approximately $5000 worth of property stolen. THERE ARE NO CAMERAS ON THE PROPERTY. NEVER STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!…
The single room I was in was enough for my needs as a solo guest. The room was clean, well-maintained, and the heating worked well (it was cold outside) and I was very comfortable and the staff was very friendly.
PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT STAY HERE!! i wrote in capital letters to highlight the importance of staying in other hotels nearby just. Upon check in I was given keys to 3 rooms that were not clean. I had heavy bags and there was zero empathy neither from the woman at front desk Saturday afternoon on Oct 31, 2020 who checked me in nor from the the manager who was it front desk on Monday November 2nd 2020 in the morning. I took videos where I was given access to a room that was so hot with an air blower on carpet to dry room with towels on bathroom floor. The second room was not made at all with beds in disarray. The 3rd room smelled of horrible odor like someone smoking drugs. Rooms were not clean even finally the room that was given to me that was clean and out of shear desperation I took, found long strands of hair on bathroom counter and someone was sitting on made beds. On my second day Sunday I called the front desk at 11 am same woman from the day before answered and I asked her for towels and asked her if I should leave used towels outside my room she said yes. Why I am not surprised, the towels were never picked up all day and fresh towels were never left. I had to go to the front desk the following morning without taking a shower and beg for towels. I got hand towels. The woman I mentioned was clueless and not interested in doing her job. And she was always in the back watching TV and checking her phone and was not interested in taking notes and doing her job. I walked by the front desk multiple times and she is never at Front Desk. Even upon check in I had to wait for her to show up and when she did she acted like doing me the greatest favor. Now lets talk about the manager what a beauty: On Monday I complained about the service and the woman and he was expecting the complaint. I told him about the towels and the horrible service I received but I was talking to deaf wall. I actually went looking for housekeeping and asked the "guy" for towels and got them myself, thank you manager. After complaining to manager I left to do some errands and came back 2 hours later and waited to get a key to the room, I forgot mine in room. To my total surprise this manager forgot that we talked and I complained to him. He said" Hi Sir, are you checking in?" I wanted to laugh but wait there is more.... The room I have has no desk. Room is very spacious and can fit a big desk here. I asked the manager for a room with a desk, every hotel room I have been in had a desk. This manager after completely forgotten that I talked to him and complained about service informs me that desks are in the "Suites" and I do not qualify for one. Please do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. I wonder how this hotel has Holiday Inn Express on the front door. Please avoid this hotel.…
I am an IHG rewards member which is why I picked this Hotel. It was one of the worst Holiday Inns I have ever stayed in. My room was never cleaned the entire time I was there although I requested it. I was finally told the maid had entered I did not want my room clean, which was a complete lie. My trash was overflowing and it took several calls to the front desk for someone to come and bring clean towels and empty the trash. The breakfast was terrible, The food was cold, muffins stale and the coffee was cold.
