The description really does not do Madey's justice. A really spacious set of rooms with their own shower/wc. Liliane made us truly welcome. There were tea and coffee making facilities, and bottled water. Breakfast was a feast with cereal, croissants, bread and homemade preserves. We had booked for 3 days on the recommendation of local friends but when we got to Lagruere, we couldn't find the place. When we rang, they denied having record of our booking and offered no further assistance to help find alternate accommodation.

We stayed here for one night while cycling along the Garonne canal. Superb accommodation (4 rooms) in the sleepy little hamlet of Lagruere, 3 km from Mas d'Argenais, very close to the canal. Good storage of bikes. Wonderful welcome, very peaceful night's sleep and excellent breakfast with home-made jam etc. All this for €50!

We did the coast to coast cycling route Bordeaux to...
