We spent a couple of nights here for our wedding anniversary and booked their best room 'a suite'. It's in a lovely spot, right by the river and within easy walking distance of the town and several good restaurants. The hotel is very nicely converted keeping many original features, including the beautiful chapel. The staff couldn't be more helpful. Buffet breakfast was served in the lovely cloister, and was very good indeed on the first morning. Due to the hotel being quiet on the second morning we were given a list of buffet items and asked to chose. Those were all then served to our table, which I thought was an excellent idea. The orange juice was fresh and the cakes home made and much better than normal Portuguese cake, of which I'm not a fan. The pool is small and shallow and situated in something of a wind tunnel, but is probably nice for a dip when it's very hot, which is wasn't for us. I think the only area where the Convento is a bit of a let down is the room. The 'suite' is simply a room with a wardrobe divider and a rather uncomfortable sofa and 2 padded dining chairs. I did see this in the photo so wasn't overly surprised. It's not somewhere you could sit and watch TV if your partner was sleeping - just far too much of a shared area. I think the seating needs to be replaced with a couple of comfortable armchairs at least. Partitioning the seating area off could be possible. Plus normally when you book at suite you get a few extras to make it a bit special, plus it was our anniversary which they did know. But there was nothing outside the bottle of water. Still none of that really compromised our enjoyment of staying here and it's within a reasonable driving distance of some of the loveliest Schist villages which are well worth a visit.…
A totally beautiful hotel with helpful, professional staff and a real treat. Our room was elegant, airy and exactly what I want from a hotel bedroom - a small balcony, great lighting, comfy bed and quiet. I would have no hesitating in staying here again.
Without any previous plans we ended the driving day in Sertã. After a restful dinner we looked for a place to sleep. In fact we were not expecting to find anything special in that small town but this old monastery turned into a hotel really surprised us for the nice ambience and quality. No doubt that next time in this town this will be the hotel where to stay. Enjoy!
Convent of the seventeen century renovated for an hotel unit in 2013. The building is very interesting in a beautiful scenery. Very nice eager to please staff at the front desk, namely Cátia to whom we are very thankful for being so helpful. Medium size rooms, very clean, cozy, and with pleasant views. Large bathrooms. Good breakfast. There is a Spa and a small outdoor pool. Ponte Velha restaurant is nearby. Excellent value for money.
On my way to Lissabon I had a very nice stay in Serta. The surrounding is worth a trip to visit this region in the near vicinty of Lisbon. The Serra da Estrela was a very exciting trip experience in a short distance drive away. Thanks to a most friendly, professional and welcoming team made me writing this positiv note at Tripadvisor..
