We were booked into a two-bedroom, two bathroom suite in this property for two nights. Upon arrival, we were shocked to discover that the suite (244) was filthy. It hadn't been vacuumed in ages. There was actually urine on the toilet seat! We should have expected it, since there was garbage and debris on the floor in the hallways. We reported the room as unacceptable. There was no other two bedroom suite available, so we were swapped out to two smaller rooms, which had barely adequate kitchen facilities. We had trouble signing in to the free internet. The entire stay was most inconvenient, since most of the things we'd brought with us were mixed together, and had to be sorted between the two replacement rooms, which weren't much cleaner (a littlle, but not much) than the suite. What has happened to Homewood Suites?! We used to be assured of a good experience at least 90% of the time. Now, we might luck out with a good one maybe 10% of the time. About ready to switch out to Marriott properties!…
The hotel went above and beyond to ensure we were as safe as possible from exposure to covid. Bravo Great location- close to everything ( you do need a car). Our 1st trip in 13 months and we were very comfortable with the precautions they took. Will definitely be back
nice hotel, building. incompetent booking staff ruined our stay. booked a handicap accessible room, got a hearing impaired room. unless. gave us 10% off for inconvenience of my 86 and 95 year old parents having to struggle down this endless hallway furthest away from the elevators. Brutal and unfair!
This hotel is a bit dated, rundown, and staffing is minimal in the breakfast area. Tables were dirty floors were filthy, paint peeling in the bathroom wall paint coming off curtains shower curtains filthy and old. Tried to charge five dollars a bottle for the water in the fridge. Then inform me that I had to read the crumpled stained piece of paper taped to the fridge to know the towel service and water service charges. Not Hilton like in their approach to business. I understand low staffing but… Educate your staff better.
My wife and I were on our way to visit family and booked a night at Homewood Suites. We had stayed there last Thanksgiving and decided to give it another try. The service was exceptional. The young lady at the front could not have been nicer. When she noticed that we asked for non feather pillows she immediately came to our room with the pillows. The room was clean and both tvs gave us options. Next morning there was an array of possibilities for breakfast. We were both very satisfied.
The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. Our room was clean and updated. we had 1 minor issue that the front desk took care of in no time. We had stayed at the Hilton downtown in the past, if you like Hiltons and need to be in the west part of Hartford this is not a bad option.
I visited the Hotel for a stay over for an event taking place in Hartford. I typically stay in Hartford however wanted to change things up. Great choice and would stay here again . Check in and check out was simple. Room was ideal for what I was looking for. My family joined me later in the week and they too were happy with the accommodations. We did not stay for breakfast. It did look sparse. My review is based on the room, the location and the ease of stay.
This hotel was clean but digital room key didn’t work, toilet was busted, ironing board broke, bed was uncomfortable and there were no towels at the pool after calling twice. Southingon homewood suites is better
Our stay here was a shocking experience. We have to travel a lot for work, and we're HHonors members. We have a lot of experience with travel and hotels, and go with an upper level of hotel because we feel fresher and cleaner for work. We had one VERY bad experience at a Homewood Suites in Nashville, TN this summer, but this stay was nearly as bad. We arrived on the night of 10/27/21, and we're booked into room 244 automatically. When we arrived, we noticed the lobby and hallway floors were unvaccumed and filthy. Litter lined the floors in the hallways, including shreds of plastic bags and other items. Our room was disgusting. Not only was the furniture and carpeting soiled and unvaccumed, but there were stains on the furniture, the duvet covers, etc., and there were actially drops of urine on the toilet seat. Yes. Urine. We complained at the front desk. Fortunately, the night manager handled the situation well, and offered us two other rooms in place of our original, filthy suite. These were cleanER. Not clean. Merely "Cleaner". But we were exhausted and had a big job the next day, and there was no urine on the toilet seat, so we accepted the different rooms. Within a short time, however, it became clear that the replacement rooms, 323 and 326, were nearly as grimy as 244. There was water damage in the ceiling, mold on the bathroom ceiling, the popcorn ceiling outside the air ducts was stained from unclean air blowing out of the vents. The carpets were still not vaccumed, the chairs had multiple mystery stains on them. When we pulled out a blacklight, we found suspicious droplets on the TV stand in front of the TV (I don't want to know how that happened), and we didn't even try to guess what was sprayed on the walls around out toilet under our blacklight. We will be complaining bitterly to Hilton Corporate about the condition of this second Homewood Suites. However we thought that users have the right to know what to expect from this filthy place that's in terrible need of cleaning, maintenance, and renewal. …
Rooms are large and clean. Complimentary breakfast was very poor. Little selection and very low quality food. Even the coffee was bad. I checked in and out with the app which wired very well. Including the key on the app.
