For the price of a standard chain this is a spotless quiet tastefully decorated inn with a four poster bed pleasant staff and good location. Breakfast is free and quite good. Relaxing and accommodating. Will come again.
We stayed in Room 132 but I suspect that the following coments about the noise level also pertain to all the rooms on the first floor. I say this because my step daughter stayed 5 rooms down the hall from us and she had a similar experience. My biggest compaint resulted from the fact that room 132 is directly BELOW the breakfast area and the floor (ceiling of Room 132) squeeks and creaks noisily if anyone so much as moves up above. All was well until 6:00 AM when people started walking around overhead. It sounded like a herd of elephants! Seriously. No exaggeration. Once that racket started sleep was impossible. When I VERY POLITELY mentioned it to the manager upon checkout she made a bunch of excuses, and basically blew my comment off. I suspect that the entire first floor has this problem because my step daughter commented that she could hear people walking above her room. In addition a TV in a nearby room was extremely loud and she could hear people talking in nearby rooms "As if they were in the room with me.". Otherwise the place is quite nice, if a little outdated and worse for wear. Our room was large, clean, and comfortable, and the online price was right.......even after the $10 per night that the hotel adds to your bill after your reservation is "paid for" online. It's some sort of "facility fee" that they add on, supposedly because their ammenities are so wonderful. At least THEY think they are. I didn't observe any ammenities that are any better than at any other decent hotel. ie: Parking, exercize area, continental breakfast, TV, and coffee pot in room, icemaker sown the hall, etc. (no microwave or fridge). In all the hundreds of hotels I've stayed in domestically and internationally I never remember staying anywhere else which added on an extra fee because they think they're so special. C'est la vie.........it's only 10 bucks. Bottom line the Farmington Inn was the best buy I found in the area and it was centrally located in a nice neighborhood with ample parking a decent breakfast and other services located conveniently nearby......restaurants, liquor store, stores, etc. I might stay there again but ONLY on the second floor!!!…
This was a Very nice place to stay. It was perfect area for our plans of travel since we were going three different direction on our trip. Free Coffee 24 hrs. and Free breakfast. Very clean and historical feeling. Well worth the stay.
This hotel is very old and outdated. The front desk staff was very unpolished Rooms were clean but carpets and furniture were old and stained. Wall paper looks 30 years old and peeling in bathroom and room.
We selected Farmington Inn as a central location to visit family and friends across Connecticut. It was an easy drive from Bradley Airport (you can take all back roads if you want). The staff were friendly, the rooms were comfortable and had all we needed (coffee, safe). Easy walking distance to several good restaurants and a Starbucks. Nice rooms and lobby to sit and visit with family too.
