Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Reservation desk had major time-consuming issues with our Priceline prepaid rooms for 3 nights. One of my longest check in's ever. They still had staff and a manager knocking on our door after our 2 night to try to straighten out the reservation. Another reservation clerk was unaware of the id or password for the hotels common computer. This property does Not provide daily towel changing, bed making, or room cleaning services - which was not explained to us. We had to carry our dirty towels through the lobby to change daily... Shampoo pump container was empty, another trip to the front desk. Rooms are narrow and dimly lit. Hotel did appear somewhat newer, which was the only reason for a second star.

Who doesn't like an almost new spanking clean hotel and this property is that but the people make it 5 stars. We checked in and were tired after a long day. Our first contact was with Nohah at the front desk. He was polite personable and knowledgeable, exactly the person who should be at the front desk. When we noticed that the sign at the front door was wrong saying that check in was at 12:00 P.M. and check out was 3:00P.M. we notified Sue of the housekeeping staff. We had a wonderful conversation and learned that we both grew up in the Bronx. I wish we had even more time to talk to her

Reserved the hotel a week before my stay. We arrive at the hotel after a long day of travel at midnight the receptionist is talking on the phone does not acknowledge us, I’m patient and I hand my my ID and he says we have no rooms I said excuse I have a reservation, he said we had a lot of people come in and we have your room. No apologize nothing and then as he sees us sitting trying to call hotels to find a room he comes over I can get you a room no concern for how exhausted we are. I have never met such a person in my life. Hope the hotel does better in hiring their people

This hotel is a fine option if you are visiting the area, but manage your expectations. The hotel is a bit dated and simple. Breakfast was so bad that we had to go somewhere else. Example - they had bread but no spreads.

Stayed at this property over the holiday weekend with my wife and toddler. Overall I’d say this is a great under 5yr old property that has very nice suites that should suit most people quite well I would think. We drove an extra 10 mins from where we typically stay in Wallingford just so we could enjoy a newer property with suites and it was worth it given the 38 min drive we did each day down to our reason for traveling on the Shoreline. The main issues I’d say were less specific to this property and staff and more just the continual digging out of COVID supply chain issues. For example, most days there was no yogurt and then there were no individual liquid half and halfs - all related to ongoing supply chain issues. I think there needs to be more than just one breakfast attendant - I felt bad for the one person tasked with this during the peak morning hours. Again, I realize all the staffing issues affecting every business but you could tell she needed help. So overall, we will be back for sure - no question there. A newish property with suites is really important to us over the dated Wallingford Courtyard a couple of exits down I-91. I just think what would really take this property to the next level would be more visible staff and ensuring adequate breakfast offerings even if that means the hotel getting packages of yogurt from the Stop and Shop and supplying it themselves.

Stayed here for a night while moving my daughter out of her dorm room. This hotel was not far from school and our rented storage space. Entrance isn't marked but it's on the side where the awning and sliding glass door are. No one was at the desk when I arrived to check in at 5p. I called out ... and finally went behind the counter and walked to the back calling 'hello' as I went. One of our two keys didn't work at all. Room was spacious as was the closet. Shower was decent and bed was comfortable. Desk chair was not. There was something on the sliding door to the bathroom -- see photo -- not really sure what that was. Small children on the same floor as ours were loud and we could hear them through the wall and door. Breakfast was just fair but the eating area was pleasantly spacious. Lids for the coffee didn't match the cups.

Hot mess! The staff was very nice, and clearly working hard, the majority of these problems are at the corporate level (listen up corporate!) We checked in on a Saturday, and our room was not ready at the time of check-in. There was a line (with some very upset wedding guests) who could not check in. We were told there were only two house-keepers for the whole hotel. Awful! Pay your people more and hire more staff! In terms of the lay-out of the hotel, the drive-up to access the main entrance was on the side, through a tiny door...not the most welcoming lobby. THERE WASN'T ENOUGH PARKING! We left in the evening for dinner, and had no place to park upon return. Luckily it was Saturday night, and the bank was closed, so we parked there (but were told if it was a weeknight the bank would have towed us). The signage for the pool hours was incorrect...don't post the pool opens at 8 am, when the pool actually opens at 9 am. Speaking of pool, it was the size of a baby-pool, but clean. Unfortunately, Marriott has the run of this area. There are no other hotel options on the Cromwell/Middletown line. I really hope another hotel opens soon. We live in Middletown, and it would be super helpful to have another hotel to service the Main Street/Riverfront area.

Very clean and comfortable. I stayed at this hotel for two nights.  As we were entering the hotel with one of the luggage carts, we were struggling with pushing the cart and Ezra offered to help us get the cart to the room.  Then he helped us unload it and took it back downstairs for us.  People often complain when things go wrong so I wanted to give props to an outstanding employee EZRA, who was VERY helpful today.

Place seems run down there are loud parties on the hallways no staff is paying attention to. When I called to complain I was pretty much told " im making little over minimum wage here what do you expect " - completely understandable . I try to get in touch with yet another "New" manager Brigitte but she was nowhere to be found You cant expect your place running smoothly when you pay minimum wage to your workers when you bluntly taking advantage of them just because they speak another language.

Everything was amazing. The check in was smooth and they let me know when my room was read even before the check in time which was nice. The whole experience was just outstanding. The property is gorgeous, nice modern rooms.
