I travel with two kids and a dog so Motel 6 is a standby for me. Some are better than others. This one is TERRIBLE. We got our room then realized there were lots of sketchy people hanging around outside. A woman wandered over and asked MY SON for cigarettes. Then I saw what I can only presume to be prostitutes coming in - women in scanty skin tight dresses. I went to the office, they were inside, having long conversations with the desk clerk and were clearly well known. I do not judge these women - many are trafficked many just choose this lifestyle. I don’t want them parading around in front of my kids. Why isn’t Motel 6 doing more to stop trafficking of women and minors on their properties??? I go back to my room. It’s late. I’m tired. The door locks. I think we will be fine and just find a new place the next day. But oh no. This location is the gift that keeps giving. The bedding was grungy and stained. We are in a pandemic and the website says they are taking extra care to clean but the light switches had grime and dirt all over them. They clearly had not been cleaned in years. It’s okay though. I used cleaner I had in the car to spray the room down (with COVID, I planned to sanitize any room regardless of where we stayed. I brought our own linens for the same reason and put them on top of the beds and again thought, it’s late, I’m tired. It will be okay. Then we realized the sink will not drain at all. By then it was 10pm. We had unloaded the car. I wanted to sleep. By midnight people were pounding on our door and scared me awake. Ignored it. Went back to sleep. Again at 1am the same thing. I called the front desk. The agent was rude and HUNG UP ON ME. Just do not stay here. This Motel 6 goes on my “sh*ttiest dumps in America” list. Corporate Motel 6 - you are like the McDonald’s of road trips - reliably affordable, family and friendly and usually clean and safe. Stop allowing horrible locations like the one in Wheat Ridge, CO to exist. I only ask for a clean, safe bed so my expectations are “functional.” This place is NOT FUNCTIONAL.…
We paid $90 to stay at this hotel on our way home from a driving trip - there is no shampoo no hair dryer no microwave there was no ice - ice maker was broken - the place reeks of smoke despite our request for a smoke-free room - we weren't sure that the sheets were clean they were that wrinkled - and all for $90
The front desk lady wasn't so friendly and when we enter the room it smell like smoke even tho the room had a no smoke, the room is dirty the sheets is dirty, there was a spider on the floor and the tv doesn't work, I don't recommend coming here this is the truth.
After being rushed down to the Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital late in the evening, we struggled to find a place that was pet-friendly and close to the hospital. We arrived around 11pm with our dog with heart issues and a room was available. Angel, the front desk attendant was kind, empathetic and accommodating. He was great!
Or what you don't get. No microwave, fridge, or a coffee maker in room. They said it was a fire hazard but the other motels in area have have all the necessary items. I travel a lot for work and will make sure my company never books this property again. Asked to switch credit cards for payment, they said they did but it never happened. Will never stay there again
