Lovely place, friendly staff, and delicious dinner! Room was clean and comfy. Shared bathroom concept wasn't too bad. However, next time we might request a room with the private bathroom. Super close from the lake and hikes!

We were fortunate enough to spend 4 nights with James and Liz at A Wolf Den B & B! The apartment suite was perfect for my husband, my teenage son, and myself. We had our own little space and privacy when we wanted it, but our hosts were always gracious and we enjoyed visiting with them when we had the...

Liz and James are fantastic. The location is in a great place near Twin Lakes, Leadville as well as great activity locations (Independence Pass to hike, Ski Cooper to ski or ride). They also have a wonderful home, great views, and pleasant outdoor spaces to enjoy (patio and hot tub). Breakfast is also incredible and served whenever you would like....

We arrived early in day and hosts allowed an earlier check-in than most places do at 4pm. We were greeted and shown our beautiful room. Nice private bathroom, best bed we've slept on in years, they had a nice little sofa and cable tv. They also had various drinks available (bottled water/tea/coffee) with a refrigerator and microwave. Their grounds are...

We were very close to great dining and interesting, fun activities. The breakfasts were wonderful and served at our convenience. The room is large with...

Like the view from the back patio, the hospitality from James and Liz is spectacular! I have stayed at A Wolf Den on three separate occasions. On all three visits the owners have been extremely gracious. The breakfasts are awesome - fresh fruit, eggs sausage; homemade pancakes and fresh fruit another day. The room over the garage is like a...

Wish we had more time to enjoy this stay, but we had to travel through for one night. James was amazing. We really enjoyed the conversation and breakfast of fresh pancakes with strawberries and fresh squeezed orange juice. The room is quite large and is above the garage, but don't worry the noise of the garage door is not bothersome...

Liz and James are amazing hosts, and ensure the best stay possible. They have extensive knowledge of the area, making it easy to find the perfect activity for your trip. The B&B is about a 15 minute drive to Leadville and Buena Vista, and only minutes from gorgeous hikes near Mount Elbert. Hands down, breakfast was the best part of...

This place is quiet with fantstic host. The view is amazing, there is so much to do or not and enjoy the quiet. Snowshoeing in the winter, hiking and kayaking in the summer. Liz and James have made this a very sacred place for me. When I have time to get away this is where I go.

Gorgeous setting and comfortable room with all the amenities you could desire, including very flexible breakfast service. We stayed three days and had wonderful breakfasts each day. Only downside was very slow wifi, but really, we were on vacation, so what were we doing surfing the web? One note: you are at over 9,000 feet, so if you don't do...

“If one is to travel in the off season, there is nothing to eat for miles and you are in the middle of nowhere. James offers a spaghetti dinner for two for 50 dollars which had I have known about would habe certainly taken due to our poor experience in Buena Vista, Colorado. This spaghetti dinner was offer in October 2012, so I am not sure if it is or not, but one should call ahead to see and get it, you will spend more in gas than the meal. Oh and be aware of deer.”
