7 miles up in the mountains., off the grid. It has been substantially developed over the last 20 years but still retains it's unique naturalness. This not a place for people who don't know what they are getting into. Road is minimally maintained and 4...More
I arrived early evening to discover they are cash only. I asked the staff how far to a bank..they replied Wells Fargo 18 minutes away. I explained I just came from exactly there but it took me a full 30 minutes due to steep dirt...More
The parking is horrible you have to wait in turn for about 30 min and the water is disgusting and it's bee infested. We have a 6 month old and it got stung and we where not the only one two family left with the...More
This hot springs is definately a beautiful place, but when you encounter the staff, you will not want to hand over your money to them. If it was just about the grounds it would have been rated higher, but customer service matters to me.
We went early and got a massage. soaked for awhile then went back out to our car and had sandwiches we brought. the place was nice with many different pools at different temps. the road getting there is a lil ruff but worth coming

I don't think you'll find anyone who can give you a straight answer to this. The weather can be very unpredictable in the mountains (as you probably know, being from Fort Collins). I would say in November, hope for the best but prepare for the worst. If you have 4WD you'll be fine. I have a Subaru and don't own chains. November is right on the cusp- normally I'd say you'd be just fine, but this has been a very wet year and snow could start falling earlier than normal (typically Dec-March is heavier snow season). I'd say go for it if you have 4WD- it's totally worth it. I have also heard there is a shuttle from Steamboat to the springs, but don't know anything about it... Could call and ask.
