We stayed at the Palace last weekend as a stop on the way to Aspen from Albuquerque. We purposely avoided the chains thinking a downtown Salida stay would allow us to enjoy the place. We were correct. This is a beautiful small town with historic roots that are abundantly displayed in it architecture and the quality of its downtown. With...

Beautiful room, it was super quiet and close to fun restaurants and bars. They really thought of everything we could need and had it in the room and kitchen. The continental breakfast was delivered at the time we requested and was delicious.

This is a lovely turn of the 20th century hotel that has been remodeled but retains many of the original features and woodwork. I chose to book a 3rd floor room (304) for the views despite the lack of an elevator. I prefer to take the stairs and I loved the original handrails and spindles. The suite was much larger...

Located in Salida, Colorado's Historic District, a very short walk from the Arkansas River and a plentiful selection of restaurants, art galleries and funky, fun shops the Palace Hotel offers a peaceful respite from our busy lives. We stayed in Suite 203, the Adams-Onis Suite. Named after the Treaty of 1819, designating the Arkansas River as the lower border of...

The hotel is an experience I am glad we took but hot a family friendly place. It has stairs only, thin walls and a tiny, tiny bathroom with a shower that is borderline unusable because it is so tiny.. I am sure there are rooms with bigger bathrooms we just chose the cheaper room. No a place to bring children....

Just completed my second visit to Salida and the Palace Hotel, and it was a real pleasure. Breakfast muffin and yogurt wonderful - check. Advice on which restaurant to visit - check. Wonderful suite (302) clean and neat - check. And as always, a great base to stroll around town or up the river trail.

The staff was some of the most friendly and accommodating that we have experienced. The room was decorated in period style and exceedingly clean and appealing. Breakfast delivered to the door on time and was wonderful. We would highly recommend The Palace Hotel and plan on a second visit for sure.

We enjoyed our stay at the Palace Hotel. The quality of the bed and shower mean a lot to us. Both were fine. The bathroom was small but adequate. On our second stay at the Palace, our room was sparkling clean, as well as charming and comfortable in its appointments. The location can't be beat. Breakfasts were delicious and delivered promptly at the times we specified (different times for our two mornings). The bed was very comfortable and the shower was delightful.
