Can't describe the experience. You really have to be there to understand what the mountains are like. Not anyplace like it anywhere. We enjoyed a nice, peaceful walk up and carried down unforgettable images of waterfalls and views indescribable by picture. Go here.

We spent 5 nights in the Elk Ridge section of the campground. The sites are large and spread well apart so you aren't on top of your neighbors and you have lots of privacy. There were lots of nice hiking trails and it is close enough for day trips in to Telluride and Ouray. We spent two days paddle boarding...

We spent a week in the full hookup section (Pa Co Chu Puk) and 3 nights in the Elk Ridge section which is electric only. Both were very nice, but the views from up on Elk Ridge were awesome! This state park has so many fun things to do like a swim beach and playgrounds for the kids and miles...

This is a state park. Bathrooms and showers were clean. Reasonably priced showers. Good experience. Campsites big enough and spaced far enough apart to be comfortable. Grandchildren had a great (and successful) fishing experience.

The park is in a beautiful setting. The campsites have enough room between themn that you are mostly unaware of your neighbors. The campground hosts and the rangers were annoying. My very old dog can hardly walk but the host would walk into our campsite anytime the dog was off leash. There are no poop bags at the campground, so...

Firs thing... here he comes! checked passes and camp pay. Then he checked our firewood and said since we had not bought it from him that we had to pack out any remnants and and ashes from the firepits when we left. Told us if we bought his wood that they would do it. WHAT????? Real blackmail system for forcing...

This State Park is very popular and I can see why. We stayed for a week with our camper. The spaces are not close together and offer privacy. The dogs looked forward each morning to the walk by the river and the fishing ponds. Next time I visit I will bring my fishing rod.

This site was great. At first we got a little nervous, because Its a one way going around and our door and...

Wonderful state park. We stayed in riverside site, full hookups with 30 amp service. Ran 1 AC during midday, but opened windows to cool breezes at night. Lovely views of mountains and close to lots of 4WD trails in Ouray!!

We've stayed in the Ridgway yurts a handful of times since 2003 and love the campground - beautiful views, great laundry room, showers, friendly staff and very relaxing. This past time (early in June 2014) we booked a yurt and for $80 a night it should be clean. There's not that many surfaces to clean off. Most of the living...

“We liked the system of giving you a tag and letting you go pick any site that was available and not reserved. Just drive around and take a look. Drive into the site you like and place the tag in the pocket on the pole with your site number! Easy-peasy.”
