We found this little lodge to be a delight! Friendly and kind staff (allowed my parents to hang out on the lobby couch for two hours after we checked-out while we snow-tubed and waited for our house rental check-in time). Delicious breakfast and DVD and board game library. Best part is definitely the tubing hill, which we went to again...

You had the kind of experience we want all of our guests to have at HCL! The nice thing is, as a "Mom and Pop" lodge, we can accomodate our guests in ways the large chains are unable to do, and that can make a lot of difference to a guest. We are so glad you had fun in our...

We have stayed here four or five times over 10 years. We have always rented one of the cabins. They are cozy, clean, and comfy, with plenty of room, kitchens, and wood burning stoves. We love the hot tubs, the breakfast, the sledding hill, and the fact that pets are welcome! We would have stayed here for our recent Wolf...

We are so sorry we didn't get to host you on your recent Wolf Creek trip! We always enjoy our returning guests and have a lot of fun reminiscing. But now that the holidays are over, things are slowing down a bit, except for the tubing hill! It's faster than ever and people are having a lot of fun. As...

We stayed at the High Country Lodge December 23-27. Our original plans were to ski Snow Mass, CO but my husband changed our plans last minute to stay in Pagosa to ski WolfCreek. I chose the lodge because some website said it was #1 in town. Not. I was even told by people in the town while shopping that it...

Some people will read my 4 stars and take that as a negative. However, I thought the place was quite nice and I would definitely recommend staying there again. If I could have given 4.5 stars, I would have. However, there were a few areas which would have benefited from improvement. Pros: Nice location situated between Pagosa Springs and Wolf...

We stayed one night in a blizzard while ripping pow at Wolf Creek. Glad that we decided to stay in one of the cabins, further back from the road. Cozy, rustic, short walk over to the hot tubs. We stayed with 2 small dogs in tow - $20 each for the night but they were welcomed. The staff were very...

Our cozy cabins are a great choice for sitting out a blizzard. You stayed in one of our studio cabins with a wood burning fireplace, and as you said, it was just a quick walk to the hot tubs for a hot soak before a comfortable nights sleep. We hope your dogs enjoyed the stay as well! We enjoyed hosting...

The cabin we stayed in (right next to the inner tube run) was well laid out, bright and well decorated. The kitchenette had everything we needed (dishes, etc.) and appliances -except no freezer compartment. The front porch was a perfect place to sit and enjoy the light rain that fell that evening and was only marred by the commercial trucks...

Thank you for choosing one of our unique studio cabins for your stay. Our studio cabins are the coziest and easiest on the budget, and located just across from our hot tub deck and the convenient picnic gazebo with gas grills. The studio cabins are the only ones out of our ten log cabins that have fireplaces (seasonal-starting Oct 15th),...

We adored our cabin. Very atmospheric, and felt not just rustic in the right way but also original in just the right old sort of sense. It was cabin-sized, not super-sized, with an actual fireplace and a bundle of firewood waiting for us. We lit a fire, watched a movie, and had a perfect evening high in the mountains. Add...

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay in our beautiful studio cabin. They are perfect for couples or small families with dogs, but we also have 2 cabins for those who prefer a non pet atmosphere. We extended our Pagosa ski trip and needed to find accommodations for just one night. This property was recommended and they couldn't have been nicer.
