I felt like a break from the chain motels, the location was good, the price was great, and I was in a bit of a hurry, so . . . . . I DIDN'T REALLY LOOK AT THE REVIEWS! I should have had my guard up after seeing the signs in the office stating that I had FIVE MINUTES ONLY, after entering the room, to return and ask for a refund. But I was in a positive mindset, so it wasn't until after I had been there a half-hour or so that it began to sink in to me just how dismal this place was. How sadly neglected was it? So much that a rather attractive framed landscape picture on the wall was hung SIDEWAYS (hanger was broken and frame too bent to support it)! Beds were at least decent, as was the bathroom, but the room itself was just depressing. We could just barely wait till morning to get out.

Stayed there for weeks because I have no where to go. Bedbugs everywhere because they wash all bedding together plus the old mattresess from the sixties are full of them. The rooms smell of mold/mildew and the cleaning crew takes about a whole two minutes in your room which no real cleaning is done. Security is an issue as well as maintenance by using old construction site demos to furnish rooms. Not to mention the maintenance crew that is so high all the time that nothing rarely gets fixed correctly, not all rooms have fridges and depending on what you look like is what room and what rate they will charge which can change at anytime. Sometimes they let those people( by this I mean vagrants, druggies, prostitutes etc)in the middle of the night for a mere fifty bucks. These people do not care for your welfare or safety nor do they have any concept of customer service. Avoid this place at all costs and definitely do not take any children as there are out of state sex offenders there hiding out.Beware of this place spend your money elsewhere it is definitely worth the extra cost for your families safety. Nothing but money hungry selfish takers that are not or never been there to be of any service to you. These people simply do not care!!!!!!!

Stay away, deplorable and unsafe. No working smoke detector or carbon monoxide detector. Informed owners , made no attempt to rectify situation. Filthy furniture. Should be inspected by officials. Felt unsafe, barricaded door. No working a/c unit ,was at least 30+ years old . When checking in small notice stating you have 5 min. To inspect room NO REFUNDS. I checked in walked across the street for a pizza when I opened the motel door SHOCKING. Left before sunrise.

This room was big, I'll give it that, but c'mon, I pulled the bed away from the wall and there was gunk, food and grime behind it, blood stains on the pillows under the pillow cases and actual blood stains on the sheets among other dark stains. (If your sheets are stained in ANY way, a hotel should know to recycle them or take them to a professional cleaner.) Also, three bars of soap for hands and body. That's it. Another thing, the walls are dirty and half painted and spackled where holes must have been punched through and to end the rant, the room in General was dirty as if someone just folded the sheets. The toilet still had pee in it, I put water in a water bottle from the sink and it was brown and there was still someone's dirty shower water in the shower lingering there. It stinks like body odor, the pool is NON EXISTENT (It's a dead garden) and the front office is the only place that offers ice and they have screaming children in there and no microwave or fridge in the rooms. Also, the A/C is not labeled and doesn't work very well at all. I angled a cup and the Bible to get some air facing me from the A/C unit. And the cable and WiFi doesn't work.

I never compare a locally owned motel/lodge/inn to a Marriott or Hilton. My stars are for "worst to best" for it being what it is: an independent operation. I ALWAYS try and find the hidden gems in that category, but it is getting harder and harder to find good. clean, locally owned motels if you are traveling. Mom-and-pops need to step up their game. Denver Metro has slim pickings when it comes to locally owned motels/lodges but this once seemed like mayyyyybe it'd be ok. And it would have been if not for the other guests. Fine, some people live there and that is steady rooms being rented for management. But have some damn rules. Don't let them hang outside their doorways with bbq grills like everyday is suddenly Sunday in the park. Ask the guy taking hookers home at 8am to use the back stairs. At least TRY to make people traveling that need a place to rest LITTLE not uncomfortable. For that reason and that reason alone, this place was a FAIL. And it's unfortunate, really. The rooms themselves are surprisingly clean (mine was). The beds were totally comfortable and although the TV was dated, it had a nice strong signal, quality picture and zero issues with the remote. Towels were on the rough side, but were bright white and clean. Even baseboards were free of grime. The room was really REALLLY clean. And huge. Great room. Ya blew it Essex. Have some pride in your place, keep your monthly renters in a LITTLE bit of check and you have a decent place.
