The campsites in this park are small although there is a skipped campsite between each one because of Covid so that was nice. Roads and turns within the road are quite tight for larger RVs. There were some motorhomes in pull through sites. Campground gate house is manned only during daytime hours. Gate house attendant was very friendly and helpful. Restrooms were very clean, $.50 for four minute shower. We had only a couple of days in the area and so we’re on the go all the time, saw the Buffalo, saw elk nearby and enjoyed the ride up to Golden gate Canyon State Park. The community of Golden is a fun visit. Very conveniently located to I 70 but far enough away that noise from it was not an issue. Water and electric. Good price for being a high tourist area. We would return if we were in the area. …
Good stopover campground we used for several years to meet up with friends before launching out west. It's right off I-70, a few minutes from some nice parks and stores, reasonably priced but reservations have become almost a must.
Fun area for family and friends to gather for a birthday party. Enjoyed s'mores around the central firepit and met other campers. Easy travel distance to downtown and other areas. Wish there were more full hookups.
We camped 4 nights here in July 2019, in tent site #4 I think. The only real negative was that our tent pad was not quite level. Bathrooms and showers were well maintained and clean and the host was friendly and helpful. We had very good Verizon signal here, as well. I would camp here again.
We camped here with my daughter and her boyfriend, as the climb and frequent Clear Creek Canyon. It was a nice, safe campground. Very close to Denver, Boulder, Golden and Red Rock Amphitheater. The only downfall was the sound of the interstate in the near distance. A very beautiful area to relax, hike, climb and bike
