Can’t find nicer people. The guy who helped us to our space was friendly and thoughtful. There’s some kind of fair across the street with really loud music and he moved us as far from it as he could. But it’s still really loud. The WiFi is great. Had to use an extension cord to plug in our heated water hose. Spaces are tight. We have a 28’ travel trailer including the hitch and there wasn’t room between the space and those spaces in front of it to get in position to back in. They were full but they kindly accommodated us in a pull through instead. The pull through space we’re in faces the door of the rv next to us so we share the small grassy area. It’s winter so we don’t care. We won’t be sitting outside. We’re in space K-7
This campground has a rattlesnake problem. The management/owner has one top priority goal which is MONEY as reflected in their policies. Sites (most) are unlevel with little room. Very poor management.
Best thing is being in Golden, CO. Otherwise, it was terrible. Our dump hookup was in the middle of the campsite next to us. Out of courtesy to them, we didn't hook up. Pool was closed, but they still charged full price and called themselves a resort. But the $25 charge for arriving a few minutes early was ridiculous. I didn't mind the biker bar or the loud music all weekend, but I'm sure that it would be an issue for others. Please keep looking for another campground in the area. There has to be better options than this one. One and done for us!
Just left Dakota Ridge and we won't be back unless we're kidnapped. Almost every RV or trailer had to use leveling blocks as the pads are mostly not flat and pretty short and tight to boot. In fact, walking around the entire campground, there aren't a lot of lots with a great view. There is a hiking path that leads to a view, but from the park itself, it's pretty limited. That's not the big downer- the nearby biker bar brings with it loud music and long nights. The staff promised a spot with a view. That view happened to be one of a warehouse with tons of free construction and manufacturing noise. Between the biker bar, the warehouse noise and view and the price, we won't be back. Oh, and the wifi sucks. It's not just that the signal was weak- it also dropped connections frequently.…
We’d stayed at DR several times in past. It’s small and crowded but ok for location. They refused to refund our deposit from a reservation made in Jan (pre-Covid19). I’d had more than 10 other parks refund our money even when it was not the normal policy. They continue to disappoint (since 2005). Not recommended unless it’s your only option
