Mike and his family are excellent hosts, made us feel like the lodge was home away from home. Great breakfast buffets, the most lovely Christmas Dinner, like we would of made it ourselves. The Lodge and rooms are clean, roomy, and comfortable. Wonderful views from the deck, and just up around the corner from the lodge the wonder views are spectacular. Thanks again for such a wonderful time!
This place was great. There's carpet in the rooms, except by the bathroom... that's where you'll find the HEATED TILE :) There are hot tubs on the deck and robes in the bedrooms so you don't freeze to death running to and from your room. Seriously, this place was the perfect little getaway. It's quaint and cozy with all the charm you could ask for. The fire place in the main lodge area is epic as well. There's also hundreds of DVD's for rent, a stocked fridge with beers and sodas you can purchase individually and plenty of games to play with your friends or family. There's also a pool table and a large movie room. I highly recommend this place as a getaway spot!
My partner and I were celebrating two years together and came across Eldora Lodge, randomly, in a Google search. I can tell you without reservation that the pictures do this place NO justice at all. We stayed in the Honeymoon Room (room #1), so we had our own private sauna and hot tub. The room itself is warm, charming, rustic and very thoughtfully appointed -- from the fireplace to the hand-carved, wooden, four-poster bed. The checkin was easy and Mike was unbelievably friendly. Although we didn't spend much time in the common areas, the main lodge is freakin adorable. It too has a fireplace, couches, a pool table and "honor system" snacks, beer and shots! Morning breakfast was a delight with homemade scrambles, sausage gravy, french toast, coffee, pastries and the like. I could go on and on about this place and we WILL be back. Just one thing to note. In terms of cooking/kitchen, the room had small sink, mini fridge and a microwave. So if your plan is to fix an elegant meal, the rooms aren't equipt for it. But you're not too far from Golden or Nederland if you want something fancier than microwave popcorn. But if you're looking for a quaint and quiet, relaxing weekend getaway -- you really can't go wrong.…
We booked a night at the Eldora for a last minute staycation so that we could escape the city and enjoy some peace and quiet in the mountains. We couldn’t have been more pleased! The hot tub was relaxing and wonderful, the breakfast was delicious, and all within a 45 minute drive of Denver. They had so many wonderful amenities in the lodge, I wish we had been able to stay longer and enjoy them all. We will definitely be back!
This was a great find! Upon check-in, we were advised we could sign up to use the hot tub and saw the big screen tv room for watching movies. I’ve never seen so many possibilities in one lodge! Guests are free to use the tipi with the gas fire pit, use the decks outside the rooms, wander around the grounds and, of course, enjoy the free breakfast! The co-owner makes breakfast each morning and it is delicious! Even the oatmeal is made for you! Beautiful views of the mountains and scenery and it was lovely weather. Everything was very clean.
