Very late review, my 14 year old niece and I stayed here 2/2016, road trip. The restaurant/bar is very cute and really crowded, live band, authentic décor and wait staff uniforms, quite fun. The hotel is wonderfully historic and I would certainly stay here again. Parking is directly across the street, the bellman took our bags up, however there is...

This historic hotel is a wonderful place to stay in Durango. As soon as you walk into the hotel, the decor allows you "go back in time". The hotel staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The check-in was fast and easy. There is hotel-specific parking, which is free and convenient (especially in downtown Durango where there is limited parking). You can...

This historic hotel was such a fun stop. The lobby is delightful, with so much original decor and interesting items to look at. We ate at the Diamond Belle Saloon. We all loved the music and atmosphere.

Came here with my husband and teenage son. I called earlier and asked for an early check in (very early - 8am) as I was being dropped off so my family could head up to Purgatory and ski. I was greeted by a friendly front desk employee who said they were expecting me and had my room ready!!! At 8:00...

Oh My - Those Noises in the Middle of the Night came from the deep sleep I got in a super comfortable bed and a awesome room. No ghosts. No goblins. Just perfect sleep. The sound of the Polar Express train was endearing and soothing. Keep in mind you are very near to the train station which most people visiting...

In 1992, I stayed at the Strater Hotel before moving to Colorado and loved it. My husband and I stayed on Valentine's Day in a $200+/- king suite. It was a large and bright room in the historic theme. On arriving back from dinner at the Mahogany Grille downstairs, I walked in our room and it was 64 degrees. Prior...

I took my wife to the Strater Hotel and reserved one of the best rooms (422) Our evening meal and breakfast were great. The service outstanding. The room was nice with a great view, but there was something wrong with the heating system so it was pretty cold. After arriving home, I checked my credit card charges and discovered there...
