The pictures are so understated! This place is an unexpected oasis, with lush gardens, rustic paths, gorgeous accommodations, and yummy breakfasts. We were looking for a weekend getaway, and Blue Lake Ranch delivered a delightfully peaceful retreat. We just loved sitting by the lake watching the enormous trophy trout, listening to the countless songbirds, and awaiting the approaching rain clouds....

We were in the Oak Casita with the lovely mountain view. The accommodations are very comfy, and roomy with fantastic breakfasts (thanks Jackie!). But the carefully tended gardens with poppies, wildflowers and various other blooms gave this place an especially dreamy quality. Romantic and refreshing with easy access to Durango and the San Juan Skyway. Well done!

We stayed here 2 consecutive nights and found it a peaceful alternative to Durango with lovely gardens and paths, a knock-out breakfast on a beautiful outdoor patio and cottages that are spacious and leave you feeling pampered. We had the Oak Casita, which had a nice, recently-built feel to it, but with enough southwest design elements to make for a...

Blue Lake is our choice our annual anniversary getaway. The gardens in June are fabulous. (though we have been there in May, July and August and found the gardens to be equally lovely) We recently returned from a couple of nights in the Lake View room. Like all the rooms and cottages on the property, the room was very nice....

Nice place, nice views. No AC in an area where it is commonly above 90 degrees during the day. Ran out of water, not hot, just water in general, while in the shower, no real reason. The 2 upstairs rooms in the main lodge have NO AC, so figure on a daytime temp of 80+ in your room. Not that...

Although we arrived late, the next morning held a spectacular view of the mountains from our front window (Mountain View Suite)! Also, there was a spectacular display of wildflowers outside of our window. The short walk to breakfast was nice, and the options available for breakfast were nothing short of awesome. This is a very family-friendly place, and I was...

We stayed for four nights in the La Plate Vista room, which is a beautiful room with separate bath and toilet. The sink is in the room. Big balcony with views over the grounds and lake. The room is situated above the kitchen area where breakfast is prepared. It didn't bother us but people should know that from 6.30h you...

Visited in Late May 2015 and stayed in Upper spring house with a girlfriend. This is upstairs but worth the effort of the steps as it raises you to the BEST views around. This is the best room in the whole place for me. Views are awesome of the mountains and it is a very private room. We each had...

When my husband booked this B&B because he was riding the Iron Horse Classic cycling race from Durango to Silverton, I wasn't sure what to expect. The photos on the website looked very pretty, but I've seen that movie before (website looks great, place doesn't match up.) We stayed at the Oak Casita and I was impressed by it's large...
