We had been sheltering in place for 14 weeks and had to travel to Denver for work and found a great rare at The Oxford. They were working a skeleton crew so most amenities such as housekeeping and room service were not available but the staff on hand was marvelous and our premier corner room was perfection. The bathroom was so relaxing to soak in a hot bath and people watching from the wondrous was so fun. We hopped across the street to get breakfast from Snooze each morning and can’t wait to return during normal times, if those ever happen. Pet friendly was a nice bonus. No places to take them to the bathroom other than some small patch of greenery by the Union Station but it wasn’t a big deal. Sadly our favorite bar, The Cruise Room was closed due to Covid. but had some excellent dinners on the patio at Urban Farmer. Overall an excellent “Isolation Vacation”.

The staff at the hotel were professional, warm and caring people that played in active role in making our stay superb. From the valet/doorman having dog treats and pats for our pup, to the front desk agents ensuring we took advantage of all the perks the hotel had to offer.
Staying in this historic hotel was a big treat and my boss has wanted to visit for a long time. I called ahead to the hotel to see what they could for her to make it extra special and they surprised us with a beautiful note and treat in the room to say welcome! Her surprise and smile was priceless.
Be sure to check out the Bourbon tasting between 5.30-7pm even if you're not a bourbon drinker! I loved the blackberry bourbon since it was sweet and it paired well with the included cheese plate app from Urban Farmer.
As a woman with thick long hair, I was overjoyed to find large pump bottles of nice shampoo and conditioner in the room!
After such a wonderful stay we are going to try and find the budget to come back next month when we're working in Denver!

This is a beautiful, well-run hotel that has character and an excellent restaurant. We stayed on two consecutive weekends. The first time it was an exterior room on the second floor. It was a beautiful room. It's walking distance to Union Station. The only problem was a tiny, tiny shower and exterior street noise, which is probably worse on weekends. We were awaken several times by motorcycles and loud cars. On the second weekend we requested an interior room. As it turns out this is clearly the best option! The rooms are only slightly smaller than the exterior ones but they have a huge shower with a larger bathroom, not to mention dead quiet. And they're cheaper! Btw, the bellmen at this hotel are world class. The artwork on the walls is also quite interesting, especially the small prints in the hallways.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is so eager to make your stay special. They knew it was our anniversary. I was told maybe there would be something in our room when we arrived. I figured that might mean champagne. But I never expected champagne, a beautifully hand-written card with very kind sentiments, and a standing note card that read "Welcome! Please see inside your refrigerator for more..." When we opened the refrigerator there was a beautifully decorated plate with cut strawberries, marionberries and delicious chocolates resting on strawberry coulis and sprinkled with cocoa powder. It was so beautiful--and scruptious. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was so nice, had a separate room for the toilet, and had all of the shampoo/conditioner/lotions we desired.
I could go on and on but suffice it to say that this Hotel is one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed at. Please go. You will be so glad you did!

The added amenity fee was not nice. It should be included in the price of the room on all platforms because it is automatically added to your booking rate once you get there. If everyone who books a room is charged this increase then it is actually the cost of the room! The guest has no choice. And I couldn't participate in the perks this mandatory extra price point offered. But Andre the Giant was a good natured and helpful desk clerk who saved the day. I would have felt quite negative given the lack of action taken by the first desk clerk who offered to talk to the manager about the issue and never did. It was too late for Andre to do anything about it since I'd already paid for my room, yet his personable attention and generous personality made me feel better. Hope that he is there to give you a boost. I admit that the authentic old charm of the building is special so you won't feel like you're in just any hotel in anywhere, USA and that's worth a lot. (Maybe the extra $35 added to your booking...)

My sister and I enjoyed our stay at The Oxford Hotel. The decor is incredibly classy, vintage, and unique! We loved their on site bar, The Cruise Room! The bar gave us a trip back to the early 1900's...SO NEAT! The location was perfect... We explored Downtown Denver by foot (lots of neat shops, great places to eat, and bars). We took advantage of fresh clean sheets everyday which is hard to find without asking at most hotels. The Oxford's Valet service is top tier. Jimmy (handsome, attentive) was there to send us on our way back to the airport on our final day in Denver. I don't think I have ever seen a valet be so sweet and eager to help as he loaded our luggage into the car. The entire stay at the Oxford was refreshing and I highly recommend.

Traveling is a very unique and personal experience, and now with Covid we have to be extra conscious and responsible on where we choose to spend our time and energy as travelers.

The Oxford Hotel is an experience not to not pass up when visiting Denver. The combo of its history, location and authentic hospitality makes you feel taken back to a simpler, elegant point in time. The hotel staff did an excellent job communicating its COVID practices and policies, and it is clear that they truly care about keeping guests in a bubble of safe, hyperlocal awesomeness.
From the complimentary champagne and Tesla rides to authentic hallway conversations, this team made my 30th birthday extra special and memorable.

If you want to spend time with an exceptional hotel while getting to know the heartbeat of Denver, book here....

I stayed at the Oxford Hotel over NYE 2021 for a wedding and the stay exceeded my expectations. The hotel has a great location (right around the corner from Union Station so you can take the A line in from the airport), very unique, historic rooms, and a team that goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay.

I have to give a special shout-out to Savanah at the front desk. I came up after a spa treatment to talk to her about my lost AirPods that I was sure I left in my robe. I showed her my find my iPhone app and she quickly realized that they were in the laundry room. She then took off in a DEAD SPRINT (like going for the 100M gold) and brought back my AirPods and chapstick before they went through the washer. Of course I was thrilled about my AirPods, but I may have been equally as thrilled about the chapstick since we all know how dry the Mile High air gets.

I also really loved my room. The bed was really comfortable and I appreciated the historic touches. I travel a lot and usually stay somewhere more modern, so it was a great change of pace to stay in a place like this.

The spa / gym were also wonderful. I loved how tranquil it was down there and how people aren't all up in your face like you often find. Andie did an amazing job on my nails and was also a joy to talk to. I also have to give a shoutout to the spa staff who helped me at the beginning of my lost AirPods search.

I lived in Denver for 7+ years and visit frequently since it's a second home to me. Now I don't want to stay anywhere else when I come into town. Thanks for a great stay!

I cannot say enough good things about my recent visit to the Oxford Hotel. From the moment we arrived the staff was amazing. Savannah and Freedom were incredibly nice and helpful. I went to Denver having spent hours researching things to do and restaurants to eat. It turned out to be a huge waste of time. After 15 minutes, Savannah helped us make decisions. Where to go, what to see and where to eat. Everything she recommended was excellent! The entire staff was incredibly friendly. Next door, we were able to enjoy a steam room; which was included in our resort fee as was the free Tesla rides with Riley who was friendly and informative. We also enjoyed the bloodies by the front desk and were always provided water refills and water bottles for our hikes. Finally the bourbon tasting and live music was great every night.

The hotel is incredibly well located next to union station and walking distance to 16th street mall, Larimer square and tons of restaurants and bars. The hotel itself has a great and comfortable vibe and the rooms were spacious and comfortable though they keep their old time charm with actual keys to unlock the door. If you are planning a trip to Denver, you should definitely stay at the Oxford!

I absolutely love this hotel. We chose to stay at the Oxford the first time because of its close proximity to Union Station. Taking the train in from the airport is a huge plus and eliminates the need for a car rental. It's my second time staying here and it's just as I remember. The building itself is the oldest hotel in Denver and as you walk in and look around you can still see some of the original touches. Everything from the individual keys for the room, to the beautiful staircase railings and decor, it pays tribute to its history with a modern update and twist. The staff greet you at the door with a friendly welcome. The gentleman that checked me in was very friendly and updated me with events that would take place throughout my stay. The rooms are a decent size. The bathrooms have been updated with beautiful tilework and modern appliances. I had a fireplace in my room this stay too. I doubt it's functional anymore, but it still added a nice touch to the room. I'll definitely be back when we visit again.

Is this hotel noisy? Just wondering because it says it is by a train station. Can't sleep with loud noise.
Answer from Jeremy J
Arvada, Colorado1 contribution2 helpful votes
The trains are not, these are light rail, inter-city trains and are shielded from the hotel by the train station, itself. You would have to go over to the train station and walk out on the platform to even know the trains were there. If you choose to stay at the hotel I would recommend you ask for a room that does not look onto the street and the higher the floor the better, to be away from street noise. As this is an old style hotel it does not have modern, thick glass, windows so there is some traffic noise.
