We make it a point to stay at the Oxford every time we travel to Denver, whether for business or to visit family. The staff is always friendly and incredibly professional and the rooms are immaculate and stunning while still have an old historical feel. The location is unbeatable as far as walkability and you’re right across the street from the train should you need to leave downtown. We eat at Urban Farmer every time we stay and have never had a bad experience! We love the whiskey tastings put on by the front of house staff - that’s always a unique and fun experience. Would recommend this place a thousand times. 5 stars all around.
History of The Oxford is fascinating and it's location couldn't be more ideal! And to supplement it's history and location, venue space was great and the staff was exceptional. Look forward to the next opportunity to return to The Oxford!
I stayed here for a work conference so had the opportunity to experience a guestroom, the restaurant, and meeting facilities. Everything was great and super comfortable. The team was top notch. My husband took advantage of the free whiskey tasting offered nightly and loved it, Peyton ran it each night (in addition to checking us in when we first arrived and running an item up during our stay) and she is AWESOME. If Peyton ever decides to make the move to Portland, there will be a job waiting for her on our team :) Peyton was a standout, but everyone we encountered from the banquet team, bell, restaurant staff, etc. were all great. The Oxford has done an impressive job of building a wonderful team, during an especially tough time to do so. Cannot wait to come back and stay again our next time in Denver!…
Beautiful historic hotel with intricate antique furniture and tile work. This is the second time we’ve stayed and really enjoyed a corner room. The service was amazing and the front desk assistants are so friendly and inviting. The attention to detail is incredible and the it’s nice to be able to eat at the Urban Farmer then just mosey to our rooms. P.S. it’s a magical place to get engaged!
The location is very convenient. The staff are generally very personable. Destination amenity fee of $40/night: the morning coffee was lukewarm at best (3 mornings) and the breakfast rolls stale. The rugs and floor were filthy in both the public and room areas. The thermostat was repaired only after I complained about room temperature. The sink water faucet gave only a dribble of water. I do not consider it worth my price of over $360/night.. This was not a recreational trip for me; it was for medical appointments.
My hotel experience was nothing special. For the amount of money it costs, I expected a lot more. Windows are single pane so there’s noise from outside vehicles and people. One of the sprinkler heads in the bathroom was taped up. Probably left over from the painters who failed to remove the tape. The sheets were scratchy. Did like the wood burning fireplace in the lobby. The electricity went out in the entire building during our stay. Hot water was hit or miss in the shower. Very expensive for what you get.
Really? The location is wonderful. Breakfast...ummm no...warm coffee less than amazing pastry and people leaving dishes everywhere...no thank you. We went somewhere else the next morning. Whiskey tasting....I see pictures of glasses with whiskey in them....ours maybe two sips but if the "bartender" walked away you could pour what you want... annoying. Can you have free transportation close to the Oxford? Yes but make sure that even when you make reservations a day ahead and ask if you are the first reservation and the only one...someone whiter and richer may get the first preference...we made the best of it but still we felt what was really happening. We had to protest a bit to still have the secondary drop off.
My wife and I traveled to Denver from Santa Fe for a week of business meetings. We have traveled to Denver many times, but never stayed downtown. We chose the Oxford for our stay. After our experience, we won;' stay anywhere else in Denver. The manager addressed our business group on the fascinating history and renovation of the hotel. Our interactions with hotel staff were warm and welcoming. Everything about this property is top tier.
We have stayed at The Oxford previously and when the opportunity came up to catch a show at the Buell Theatre midweek, we decided to make a night of it in Denver. The rooms are great, the front desk staff is great and The Cruise Room and Urban Farmer are fantasti places to have right onsite. Shout out to Manuel who checked us in and then also provided the lobby Bourbon tasting. This is such a great and unique thing the hotel offers and should not be missed.
Everything about the Oxford is top notch. All of the staff are wonderful, the Doormen were as good as they come. The location is in a wonderful location, close to Union Station and restaurants. Would recommend to anyone> Jerry S. Rogers Ar.
