Was definitely not expecting a five-star hotel… But after a long drive in a snow storm I was just ready to crash. I am a frequent guest of Choice Hotels and have never had a negative experience. Upon arriving quite late at 2am (which we paid full price for, and had to check out at 11 anyway… totally fine but added to the annoyance) the room was DISGUSTING. Smelled like old poo poo and cigarettes, stains on everything and TAPE from someone previously on the curtains. Seriously?? The towels even had brown on them ! No amount of perfume could cover it and my girlfriend and I ended up not even sleeping because of how nasty the bed and pictures above it were. I’m not a picky person. I’m super easy and usually NEVER complain but this... this was too much. NEVER AGAIN. Only pro was the view. I even kept my shoes on to prevent my socks from getting dirty. Nasty.…
We booked this hotel as it was close to Mile high stadum as we were attending the Bronco VS KC game. I called at 9am and asked if we could get an ealy check in, the desk clerk that answered the phone said "no, check in is a 3pm, we have a lot of late checkouts due to the bronco game". I explained to her that was the reason for our trip and we wanted to get ready before walking to the stadum. We arrive at 2:45 room was not yet ready. Room will be ready in 30 miniutes so we decieded to go grab something to eat. 3:30 went back to the hotel, lobby full of people our room still was not ready. Sitting frustrated in the hot lobby for over an hour waiting. We did not get into our room till almost 5pm. Being a General Manager of a Choice Hotel for 10 years situations like this upset me. And it all comes down to poor managment and preperation. Yes I got my discount and only paid $39.00 for the rooms but it was not worth more then that anyway. When checking into the room there was a housekeeper still cleaning the room next to us, looking at her housekeeping room assignment for the day 23 rooms! Are you kidding me!! Being in hospitality I know that last room sure is not going to look like the first. This a burn out day for the housekeeper. Our room smelt of BO, room was dusty, carpet did not looked vacummed, my husband found a small baggie under the bed that had to of contained a controlled substance at one point. We will never stay at this hotel again!! Words of advice - Only allow so many late check outs for the day Hire enough staff so your guests dont have to experience wait time and dirty rooms and unsure 3pm check in for all guests.…
Check in: Took forever although it was at midnight. Room: Spider in the bathroom, sink was cracked, coffee machine broken, door not closing tight, shower hard to adjust. Basically a worn out motel room. Noise: This was the worst. Most of the night there were a bunch o people hanging out drinking and smoking right outside our door. Loud and bad language. Playing music late and early. And their smoke came right through the door. When I asked them to move they just ignored me. I asked front desk to help out but nothing came out of it. Value: $150! Really?
Exterior of property is disgusting. Dated and falling apart. Half of the screens on the windows are bent and broken from people entering and exiting that way. Nefarious people here. Staff extremely rude and unwilling to help guests with their booking, room, or in need of anything that has to do with room they paid for. STAY AWAY
We stayed here for the GABF because it was within walking distance to the convention and we just needed a place to crash. In all my years of traveling and staying at hotels, I had a first - next door to us a lovers quarrel played out all night, and I mean all night. They first woke us up around 12:30 with screaming, throwing furniture, slamming doors, etc and it didn't stop until 7:30 am. Called down multiple times but the front desk couldn't get them to stop. No sleep, and they changed our room, but they only comped us 50 percent because "we stayed there all night." Kind of a dumb reason because if we'd have known the fight would drag on all night we would have left, but whatever. The front desk staff were very helpful and courteous otherwise, until our last night there and we dealt with Coraline, who was on night duty. Coraline was a nightmare. Our keys didn't work when we got back late, which should be a simple fix with someone at the front desk. Instead it turned into a circus that lead to her literally calling the police on us. How we got to that point is absurd in of itself, but every easy request we made to Coraline turned into a giant ball of drama and she refused to help us. At one point I went back down to the front desk because the keys still weren't working, and she wasn't there. So I briefly walked into the employee entrance to see if I could get anyone's attention, since there was no bell or anything. That's when she caught me "breaking in" in her own words, and flipped out as though she was fearing for her life. It only got more worse and absurd from there when all we wanted to do was get into our rooms and go to bed, but she made enough noise about it that security escorted us out At that point we were so upset that we didn't want to stay there out of principle, and went and found another hotel at 3:00 am. Coraline might be the most unreasonable person I've ever dealt with at a hotel, I've seen more sense in a child None of that should have ever become an issue, our keys never should have stopped working in the first place, and she never should have given us that amount of attitude and blown everything up the way it did. Absolutely unbelievable a grown woman would act that way with anything, much less paying customers at a hotel. We weren't looking for a five star experience with our budgets and we expected a little dinginess in the rooms or facilities, and to be honest with what you're paying and for the location the quality of the rooms was not bad. But when idiots run the place that's where no amount of money saved makes up for it.…
